[Q] Device encryption not working topic

Dears,
my device runs Lollipop and it's rooted using CF-root.

Whenever I try to encrypt it, it reboots into Samsung's logo, then reboots again without to encrypt.


Can anybody get rid of this?

App updates fail to install - "connection with device is lost" [SOLVED] topic

I was having issues updating some apps within the Gear Apps Store, the error message "Gear app not installed connection to device is lost" even though there was a working Bluetooth connection and everything was functioning normally.

I tried:

Rebooting both the watch and the phone
Checking and trying various comms settings
Deleting cache and data for the Gear App Store
Re-installing the Gear App Store itself

After a lot of head scratching I was resigning myself to perform a factory reset of the Gear S.
I got it to work by simply uninstalling the app that needed the update, (in my case it was one of the clocks) and then re-installing it. All now working as it should!

The error message is completely misleading and it will get you believing it's a connection issue which it clearly isn't.

I thought I would share this with you in case you came across this problem.

[Q] PLEASE HELP ME, device bricked, no nandroid backup topic

I run a Micromax Canvas Tab P650. I committed an error.

I edited the build.prop file and changed the whole of that to that of Nexus 5. Now, when I rebooted, my GUI became very strange and apps stopped to work. Somehow, I re-edited my build.prop file and pasted the original content. Now, when I reboot, Nothing appears but Canvas Tab(the boot screen).

I do not have any nandroid backup.
I do not have CWM OR TWRP.
Please help

Did i brick my device? topic

Hello, it's me again.
I had my deviced rooted and had twrp installed on my xoom (4g) device.
I wanted to install CM 11 (4.4.4) on it and i followed the instructions that i could.
It said i needed twrp bigpart edtion. So i found the file that said twrp bigpart edtion and it said to wipe the device before doing and i did. i flashed it. I then rebooted it and i had to go back into the recovery to see if it worked and it did. it then said to flash the cm 11 file. i tried to flash it. it said that my device was not bigpart partitioned but it was....well i thought about giving up for a bit and i tried just getting back into my device to use facebook a bit but my device is stuck at the dual core screen and it wont go past it. i even tried wiping and factory resetting but now it says no os is installed.

so now i know that no os is installed on my device how do i fix my issue? is it bricked? what do i do? all i freaking want is CM 11 on my device. I dont know what to do or where to turn. iv researched so much and i still could not install it correclty. adb and fastbook is on my computer btw. i do not have a sd card reader so putting things on my mico sd card through my computer is a no go. only through usb can i do it. i tried adb sideload and stuff. nope. .......someone just help.

[Q] Developer Edition - Unknown Device? topic

I recently got the Note 4 Dev Edition and just took out my S5 SIM and slapped it in. Note 4 works as it should. When I log in to my account it shows non VZW device. Does the DE Note 4 really need to be activated? Just curious since my phone is working fine.

Device (data folder) topic

Why is the data folder empty? I use esexplorer and I go to device then data, but there is nothing there. I was trying to use Exo-player for YouTube instead of Media-player.

Help choosing device topic

Hello all. I am unsure if this question belongs in this sub-forum. I have been through the QUESTIONS DO NOT BELONG IN GENERAL post, but i think this is not a Q&A.

So the reason i have this question is that im at a standstill. I was set to buy the Nexus 6, but the size and price made me change my decision.

Anyway, now i have rethink and im undecided between the Nexus 5 and the Oneplus one. The main reason im undecided is related to roms and software.
By looking at the N5 sub-forum here in XDA i see thousands of posts when compared to the OPO. I am worried that even though being a bit less heavy spec-wise the N5 might keep more developers working on it then on the OPO. Therefore more roms and software for the future.

Related to hardware i know the opo has better specs. Rounding up the HW differences what makes me undecided between the two is the RAM and the better battery life.

So iam currently stuck between these two phones and ill have to make a decision soon, i will be buying one of these in about two weeks.

[Q] Pattern lock with Google Device Policy? topic

I currently have a Sony Xperia Z2 with Stock firmware (rooted) and ExistenZ rom, with Xposed installer.

I have google apps device policy installed for my work email which enforces a PIN lock, which I am not a fan of. I can install the "Keyguard Disabler" module which basically resorts to a non-locked lockscreen, but I really want the Pattern Lock back.

I have tried the exchange security bypass but it doesnt work for google apps policy.

I want pattern lock!

Any ideas people?

Almost any phone of today has a Slow-Motion / High-Framerate feature.
Well, i've got nothing agianst it but there's something about it that truly sucks.

Here's my old thread about this.

The Bad method:

• You Record: 00H:00M:10s@240fps (Resolution doesn't matter)


• You get a Video with 80 Seconds @ 30fps


• ...and Muted Audio ♫♪


• So that ►x1.0 isn't realtime!

Well, the iPhones record in realtime, but they can only record for 20 Seconds (real time equilevant)

Yes, you're right!

...but the Smartphones which use the sucking method of taking Slow-Motion Videos encode the output file being Slown Down.

The one and only advantage of this method, is for Media-Players which haven't got a Fast/Slow motion playback mode so that ►x1.0 makes the Slow Motion Effect Visible.


But i'd like to have ►x1.0 is Realtime-Equivalent!

So the Correct way in my opinion [IMO] is this:

• If you Record 00:00:10@240fps


• The Output File must be also 00:00:10 encoded at 204FPS and with ♪♫ Audio from ALL Microphones of the Phone!

Also some other Devices use the WRONG Method:

• Lumix FƵ1000 - Great Camera but Slow Motion Feature uses WRONG WAY.


• Canon IXUS 255 HS

But those Devices use a Good Method!

• Sony RX100/3


• Canon Powershot 510HS and 50HS


• Sony FDR-AX100


• Samsung NX1 (i think)

Purchasing New Device on Contract topic

Currently I have a Galaxy S4 32Gb Mist Black with a 16Gb SD card.

I am eligible for my 2 year upgrade on Verizon and get a discounted new device.

I have been considering the Note 4, Galaxy S5, Note Edge, LG G3, and the Moto X.

I like the S4 size or larger. Ive been really leaning towards the Note 4 as I find the stylus useful, but not sure I can warrant a phablet.

I dont think the GS5 will be that large of an upgrade over the GS4.

I would prefer something I can root and custom ROM. I loved MIUI when I had my HTC Incredible, but havent been able to mod much due to the firmware that came on my GS4. Battery life I would like something that can go 1+ days which I dont think any of these phones will have an issue doing. Also would prefer something that was wireless AC capable as I use AC at home and work.

Whats the best phone in terms of dev support, rooting, etc. and what phone would you pick and why?

How to increase the bluetooth volume on an android device topic

Recently I edited the mixer_path.xml file to increase the headphone and speaker volumes of my Ls980 running Resurrection 5.xx. However I use bluetooth headphones very often with my device and this volume was unchanged. Can anyone point me to the line in the mixer_path.xml file that corresponds with the bluetooth volume? [Q] Fix for "Test device" in HTC Tell? Relocking bootloader? topic

Hi folks,

I have a HTC One M8 that is registered with HTCDev and also S-Off (courtesy of the awesome sunshine tool). In the settings app, I have a red text telling me this is now a test device and all my data are belong to HTC. (As someone posted here months ago.)

I am not sure if I want to cripple the Udove.apk because I'm concerned about the next OTA update. Is there a way to "unregister" with HTC or more technically, relock the bootloader without loosing S-Off? Is there a way to determine I have a stock hboot if I'm not sure if I messed with it in the process?

And lights up after a few minutes
And it shows through usb like this

Why is it because I did root?
It is not to be before

Alright, basically I'm trying to install the Paranoid Android ROM and I've run into a bit of an issue. I've unlocked the bootloader and flashed the ClockworkMod Recovery. The problem I've ran into is that when I go into the CWM recovery and attempt to do anything with ADB it comes up with "error: device not found"

What am I doing wrong?

Delete system/pre-installed apps on a rooted device topic

Hi,

I'd like to know how to safely delete system or ROM pre-installed applications that don't offer an "Uninstall" option. I am rooted and running 5.0.2 on a Nexus 6. I know I could do this with Titanium or other similar apps but my point is to not install a specific app just for deleting apps if I can find the correct path/file from Root Explorer and remove it myself.

My PC doesn't recognize my Device topic

Before my computer can recognize my Device but last week I decided to format my PC and this day i tried connecting it to my computer and my PC doesn't recognized it. I tried downloading the Samsung USB drivers, tried installing Samsung KIES, Using other cables and ports but still I doesn't recognize my device what should I do? Im using CM 11.0 and Im planning to flash it to CM 12.0 thats why I need my device to be recognize thanks. :)
