Temperature of Nexus 5 replacement battery topic

Hi,
Sorry to bother you, but could you tell me if your replacement Nexus 5 battery has a varied temperature?
I mean if the temperature goes up to 35 Celsius when it's charging or you're playing games, of if it goes down to 25 when it's idle.
Because my replacement battery always stays at 29 degrees Celsius, no matter how I use the phone.
I think mine might be bad, but I want to check with someone else before buying another one.

The temperature is the same in all the apps: GSam, CPU-Z, secret Android settings menu.
Completely stock system, OTA 5.0.1.

I've got a week-old SM-910T, which I loaded TWRP and rooted the moment I received it. I've taken great care of the device so far, and everything has been working great for the past few days.

I was on a plane last night and monitoring a few of the sensors (I wanted to see how cabin pressure changes during the course of the flight). I lost GPS lock a few minutes after takeoff (probably because of the metal plane shell). Then out of curiosity I did an "A-GPS reset" and "compass calibration" with the "GPS Status & Toolbox" app from Play Store, and rebooted the phone, hoping to re-establish a GPS a lock. When the system loaded up again, I noticed that my Barometer was now stuck at 1011.4 hPa, and my Temperature & Humidity sensors are either reading 0 in some apps, or not recognized at all by others such as AndroSensor? This freaked me out a bit, because these sensors were all working fine moments earlier, and I know I hadn't mis-handled the hardware any way, by dropping the phone for example. The "GPS Status & Toolbox" app was now also crashing on first run after reboot (second time it goes in).

I have tried to factory reset and the problem persists. I have also tried to wipe all (system, data, cache+dalvik cache) and re-installed stock rom. I also tried to flash the latest official kernel. But the problem with these 3 sensors is persisting. It there something silly I could just be missing? Something I could try?

Surely the hardware could not have gone bad so fast, and with such sheer coincidence? This phone is brand new, and it's my second attempt at the Note 4, after having returned a SM-910V when realizing that it was bootloader-locked! :( Should I just try contact Samsung?

[Q] Battery Temperature Too low, charging paused topic

Hello new here and im having a problem with my phone. When i plug my s4 in to be charged i get an error saying battery temperature too low charging paused. I tested a new battery in my phone and still the same message. I checked my phone' thermostat and it thinks it is constantly -25.c

With this problem I'm thinking my thermostat is broken and am wondering if there is a way through rooting if i am able to disable this temperature warning so i can charge my phone.

Hey guys,

Just rooted my G3 and I have the latest CM12 build installed. I noticed that while installing and going through the whole rooting process my phone did get quite a bit hot.

I downloaded two apps to check battery and CPU temp.

For battery I get around 85 IDLE and 100 on Youtube.

For CPU I get around 100 IDLE and 140 on Youtube.

Are these temps too warm? It does feel a bit uncomfortable holding the phone to my head when it's that warm.

How about you guys what temps do you get? Right now at IDLE the phone feels room temp or colder.

Many of us have the same problem without a clear solution, I know that here are hundreds of post with the same issue but no solution found. I want to solve this problem and help other users.

Symptoms:
- Unable to charge (popup: Charging paused battery temperature too low)
- Unable to use camera flash (Battery temperature too low)
- Unable to charge in off mode (Yellow triangle with a thermometer)
- Thermistor reading up to -25C

Causes and possible solutions:
1. Charging port/flex/board (Dirty, short, broken wire or sensor) (Most of the people said that the problem is solved after clean the charging port with isopropyl alcohol or replace it)

2. Motherboard (Sometimes replace the charging port assembly do not solve the problem. A chemical bath could solve the problem, if not there are some components on the mother board that can be tested and replaced "Really advance technicians") image attached

3. Software (Rarely this problem begins after an upgrade or a change of rom. flash stock rom with odin)

4. Battery (I have read hundreds of post from several forums and nobody solve the problem replacing the battery. Test with another battery before buy a new one. People said that performing a battery status wipe in (home+vol down+power) could solve the problem but I couldn't find anybody that claimed that it works.

Temporal Solutions:
1. Retire the back cover and put your phone one something warm, for example you router. Dial *#0*# scroll down and press thermistor button. connect your phone to computer or wall charger and it should start charging when the CHG/BATT temperature reach -2C or -1C.
My phone normally show CHG temperatures around -7 to -5, but warming it on my router it have reached +6C.

2. Turn off your phone and press home+voldown+power at the same time and hold them until a greens letters show up. Then press vol up and you will see an android icon with the word Downloading..... plug your phone to the wall charger for a while, it will charge.

3. Buy an external charger and another battery and jut keep one of them charged.

4. To solve the flash problem you have to be root user and download Wanam Xposed that app have an option to disable the camara temperature check.

What I am looking for:
I know that should be a way to disable the low temperature warning or set the limits.
Maybe we can create a patch....

I'm not a developer but this problem could be my begining as developer hehehe
I know that the kernel or the drivers in the kernel export the battery temperature readings and status in intents in sys/class/power_supply/ and the JNI (JAVA) batteryservice read that data and make the action (shut down, pause, etc etc....)
Anybody know how to edit batterymanager or batteryervice? It should be via framework....

people said that there is a hidden menu that allow to set the temperature limits but I couldn't find it... its a myth hehehehe.

PLEASE HELP US..... SOME ONE WHO KNOWS ABOUT EDIT KERNEL OR FRAMEWORK ETC ETC.........

Tests:
I opened the phone and disconnect the flex... the battery temperature is fixed in -25C and don't change.... I connect the flex and the temperature is -10C. but constantly.... I believe that when the termistor circuit is open the limit is -25C. Then if the phone is reading less temperature than it should maybe that i due to a high resistance in the flex or board.

My phone is a Samung Galaxy S4 TMO SGH-M919 4.4.4 Stock
