[MOD] Flashable - Disable Force Encryption - Any Rom/Kernel topic

~~DISCLAIMER~~

Flashing roms, kernels, and mods come with NO guarantee, NONE, ZILCH, NADA . . Do NOT use this package if you do not grasp and understand this concept. You have been warned.

This is a recovery flashable that will extract your boot.img, unpack all pieces, modify fstab.shamu to disable forced encryption, repackage, and flash boot.img back to system. It does NOT actually unencrypt your device. More on that later.

Why use this? Who is this package for?

-If you are running 100% Stock Rom, but have a recovery installed and wish to unencrypt your storage. No root needed.
-Running a custom kernel you like, but it forces encryption and you want to change that.
-Currently unencrypted but want to flash a rom that uses FORCEENCRYPTION by default (cyanogenmod12).
-Just bored and want to toss the dice and see what happens.

That is pretty sweet right? Now you can flash anything and as long as you flash this afterwords, you wont have to worry about booting a rom and seeing that dreaded "Encrypting" screen anymore.

What doesn't this do?

-Well, to be blunt . . it does NOT actually UNENCRYPT your device. You will have to bite that bullet on your own, but I will offer some advice on that front later.

How to download and install?

Download - NO_FORCE_ENCRYPT_shamu_v0.1_BETA.zip

Reboot Recovery - TWRP only has been tested as working
Select "Install" and navigate to where ever you stored that file . . likely /sdcard/downloads/
Take a deep breath and wait for it to finish.
TADA . . done. Reboot and Profit!!

NOTE: If you can feel free to flash this as part of a line of other packages.

Example: You are already unencrypted and want to flash Cyanogenmod 12 (assumes you have all packages downloaded already)
-TWRP factory reset (optional but recommended when coming from another rom)
--TWRP's built in factory reset function does quite well, but if you are like me and want a clean slate . .
---TWRP>Wipe>ADVANCED WIPE> and check System, Data, Cache (will leave internal storage intact). This is recommened specifically in conjunction with switching GApps.
-Install> and select all packages at once. I recommend the following order . . Rom, then my Kernel Patcher, then SuperSU (optional), then GApps last.

That was certainly easy right? Well the truth is, unless you are already unencrypted . . nothing will be different. You will still be encrypted. Bummer right? But that is where these next steps come in. They will give you the options available to reach the fabled unencrypted status!!

Below are the only three options I know of unencrypt once you are running a patched kernel. Select one below that works for you.

~~WARNING~~

The below methods WILL erase EVERYTHING from data, including your INTERNAL STORAGE. Backup all important files, pictures, etc before proceeding. You have been told!!

-Go to Android>Settings>Backup & restore>Factory data reset
-Reboot to recovery and go to TWRP>Wipe>FORMAT DATA . . type "yes" to confirm
-Reboot to bootloader and type . .

Code:

fastboot erase userdata

Some may notice there is an experimental addon.d included. This has NOT been tested. In theory it should, but . . read the "disclaimer" at the top of this post. The idea here is to be able to flash nightlies as they roll out without having to re-apply this patch manually every time. This function is NOT supported on Stock Roms. If you try it and it works, let me know. Do NOT come yelling to me that it did not work and crying that you are now encrypted again. No whiner babies allowed.

At the core of this tool is a script build by @dk_zero-cool which can be found . . [DEV][INITRD][2013-10-25] Injector - An Android Ramdisk Injection Tool

Ultimately, this package is more his than mine. It is his magic that did the hard part, I just pointed it in the right direction.

NK3 flashable zip, HLOS, NK3 modem on NF9 topic

3 Qs:

1. Looking to get the NK3 modem on a stock-ish NF9 build and kernel. Any problems?

2. Not clear on whether HLOS is needed or what it even is?

3. Cannot find an NK3 flashable zip modem, only .bin (that presumably needs ODIN).

Thanks.

[Stock Rom] [Latest version] D405n Stock Rom, flashable via recovery topic

* At first, i would say, that i am not responsible for any action you do, since downloading attached files. Everything you do with files or advices in this thread, you do on your own responsibility.

This is ONLY for LG L90 D405N phone, not any other version of LG L90. Flashing attached ROM to any other device than LG L90 D405N will probably brick your phone!

Now to the point:
I somehow managed to softbrick my phone the day i bought it, and only possibility for me was to flash custom rom. But any of the available custom rom's has caught my heart, so i decided to get back to Stock. As i found, there was only old v10A version flashable available to download on internet, or possibility to flash original firmware from KDZ file via USB. Since original firmware KDZ file flashing via USB was not working for me (still don't know why), and v10A is way too old (current version is v10D) i extracted actual v10D original firmware KDZ file and made it flashable via recovery (CWM, TWRP). Of course you need CWM or TWRP first to flash this. I assume you already got it. If you don't, just google it, how to flash custom recovery on your phone.

If you can't flash KDZ file to your phone for some reason, or you just don't want to lose root or custom recovery getting back to Stock, this thread is exactly for you. And since i know the pain of searching for flashable Stock rom and getting nothing, in this thread, i will always upload the actual version of Stock rom for D405N, as soon as it will be possible after official KDZ release.

[GT-I9300I] Stock 4.4.4 Deodexed Apps [Flashable zip] topic

Hello S3 neo owners! I've just deodexed the I9300IXWUBNJ1_I9300IOXEBNJ1 4.4.4 Stock firmware of the Galaxy S3 Neo Duos (GT-I9300I) and after did some tests, I bring it to you :) Hope you use it for good and if you make a rom or something with it, please share! :)

NOTE: You must be on the Stock 4.4.4 KitKat firmware in your S3 Neo and have Rox's CWM installed to flash this correctly, if you are on a 4.3 ROM or CM, your phone won't boot the OS and you will need to reflash. :p

NOTE: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this file before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you...muahahahaha :p

Features
Completely stock apps, all deodexed (/app, /priv-app and /framework).
You win around 300 MB of free space in your smartphone after flashing this, because the zip file deletes all the .odex files and installs the deodexed apps without problems :)
After flashing this, you can install mods in your S3 Neo without fc's or random reboots caused by the annoying .odex files.

How to flash this?

1) Put the file in your internal or external SD Card (it gives the same)
2) Reboot into CWM Recovery (NOT OTHER, Thanks Rox for CWM :) )
3) Install the .zip file through CWM (Install zip/choose zip from sdcard or internal sdcard/select I9300IXWUBNJ1 Deodexed Apps.zip and yes)

DOWNLOAD HERE! --------> I9300IXWUBNJ1 Deodexed Apps.zip

That's all you need to know about this, and thanks to @Rox for CWM, @spawk for the I9301I deodexed apps and @zigbye82 for sharing the tool I've used to do this. Cheers!.

WORKING Lollipop Bookmark Sync Flashable topic

***I'm not sure if this is done properly, but it seemed right and felt natural, like childbirth.***

I have found that Google Bookmark sync is not included in the latest Gapps and that is because there is no official BookMarkSync for Lollipop.

But Behold! I have found a version that works fine in Lollipop so I made it flashable from recovery!

Just flash it after GApps and you will be able to accept it to sync when you start up your phone, it can be done at any time on any Lollipop ROM. The reason I say Lollipop is because of the new folder structure.

You would still want to follow the normal flash procedure, wipe caches before, after, whatever your preference but I do it after flashing.

You may have to wipe your browser data after boot if you have already installed a rom and have been using it.

If this doesn't work for anyone please let me know, and let me know what errors or issues you get. I can try to fix it, but believe me, this dang thing took me forever to get right, so it should work. The folder structure threw me off as well as the permissions. But I finally got it right so I hope you enjoy. I know I missed having my Google Bookmarks.

I attached it as well as included a google drive link. ENJOY

[SOUNDS][5.0 LOLLIPOP] Flashable topic

Hey all,

I am simply posting this flashable zip I put together thanks to @dwitherell for the 5.0 vr zip.

I am sure many of you are like me and are sick of flashing roms with KitKat sounds on your new Nexus 6. This should help resolve the issue:

Instructions:

1. Download an app like root explorer and delete your media folder from /system.

2. Flash this zip and you should have 5.0 Lollipop sounds back on your device.

*Note: I included stock 5.0 bootanimation.zip in this as well only because I needed it to get rid of an unwanted custom boot animation.

You can add whatever boot ani you want to this zip in the same location or delete the boot animation from the zip.

Cheers,

Baja

[TUTORIAL] Create Flashable Zip From Nandroid Backup [Complete] topic

Create A Flashable ROM From Your Nandroid Backup

►►Requirements◄◄

An OS (Linux/Windows)
Your CWM Or TWRP Backup
7zip On Windows
Archive Manager On Linux (Preferably Download p7zip)

► ► Get Started ◄ ◄

FOR CWM

#1. Transfer the CWM backup from Phone to PC.
#2. Extract system.ext4.tar file with any of the archive apps like Winrar or 7zip, you will get the system folder of your device containing all the files.
#3. Gather the boot.img from the CWM backup.
#4. Now collect a META-INF folder from any custom ROM which is made for your device. Make sure you get the correct Meta-Inf folder, else the Zip won’t work and might worsen the condition of your device.
#5. Select the META-INF, System folders and the boot.img and right click your mouse and select add to Archive.
In the Archive settings, choose the extension of the compressed file as Zip (Make sure of this part)
#6. That’s it, your flashable Zip is now ready and you can flash it using any custom recovery.

For TWRP Backup

#1. Transfer the TWRP backup from Phone to PC.
#2. You’ll see a file named system.ext4.win which is the System partition backup of your device. Rename it to system.ext4.tar (Changing its extension from .win to .tar)
#3. Extract the system.ext4.tar using an archive software like Winrar or 7zip.
#4. If your TWRP backup is not in compression mode, you will directly get the system folder, else you will get a file named system.ext4, which should be renamed again to system.ext4.tar and extract it to get the system folder.
#5. Take the boot.emmc.win file and rename it to boot.img.
Now collect a META-INF folder from any custom ROM which is made for your device. Make sure you get the correct Meta-Inf folder, else the Zip won’t work and might worsen the condition of your device.
#6. Select the META-INF, System folders and the boot.img and right click your mouse and select add to Archive.
In the Archive settings, choose the extension of the compressed file as Zip (Make sure of this part)

►►Some Important Notes◄◄

#1. On Linux If You Are Confused To See .tar.a files, don't worry rename it to .tar and then they will work on linux.
#2. Windows Users Should Use 7 ZIP, They Can Download It From Here :- http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
#3. Use Meta INF Preferably From CM Zip. (Just Incase)
#4. Your Final Folder Should Look Like This Before You ZIP It!

Special Thanks to Droid Views And Developers For Giving Light! ;)

[Recovery Flashable .zip] Stock Nexus 6 Sounds & Bootimage topic

Hey guys,

Here's a recovery flashable zip for Nexus 6 (a.k.a Shamu). I made this for myself, because I hate the bootimage & sounds included in CM12. I pulled the files from a stock Nexus 6 ROM.
FYI, stock AOSP sounds is different from Nexus 6 sounds (also, the stock sounds in Nexus 5 is also different the ones in Nexus 6)

This will replace EVERYTHING IN /SYSTEM/MEDIA into the stock bootanimation and sounds found in a Nexus 6
Which includes:
• Ringtones
• Notifications
• Alarms
• UI (keyboard sounds, screen un/lock sounds, wirelesscharging, nfc, and a few others…)
• and lastly whatever bootanimation that came bundled with your ROM

Instruction
  1. Copy the attached .zip file into your phone (or if you know what you're doing, you can just sideload it from recovery)

  2. Boot into a custom recovery

  3. Make a backup of your ROM

  4. Flash the attached .zip

  5. ???

  6. PROFIT!

The standard disclaimer of flashingallthingsfromXDA applies (I'm not responsible if your phone blows up, bricked, melts, and possibly many other horrible things).
