I have a galaxy s3 connected to centos 6. I want to access the cellular modem. I have installed the android development kit and rooted the samsung s3. I can get a root shell using 'adb shell'. I installed busybox for 'microcom' but I cant get the serial port to work.

[Q] Kies "cannot access the model information server" topic

I've been trying to update to lollipop via Kies3 for an hour or so now and i keep getting a "cannot access the model information server" error message before the update can begin. After googling the error i have disabled my firewall, tried without SD card, Sim and even tried it in safe mode with networking! Has anyone had the same issue when trying to update and if so how did you fix it?

Dpi change and sdcard access topic

In all my years I've never heard of this, but after changing dpi via editing build prop, phone can no longer see ext sdcard. Storage in settings, file manager cannot but act as if there it's no card. Tried 560, 540 so far. With no luck.

Running stock 10m, rooted.

Anyone ran into this?

[Q] Cannot seem to access android devices on this pc topic

I have 5 devices here, Asus MeMo Pad ME170c, Lenovo 3500-fl, Archos Gamepad, HTC Desire HD and a cheapo generic chinese AllWinner a13. I cannot seem to get any of them to work on this pc. I cannot access them via adb nor browse the files on them via windows. Both the Asus and Lenovo are running KitKat 4.4.2 and connect up and under adb show as unauthorized, but I never get the authorization prompt on the devices. They show up under My PC where upon trying to access internal storage the window locks up/stops responding and the progress bar at the top fills up and gradually gets slower and slower until it's almost finished but then just carries on forever. I can never access the files. On my other pc I can access the files and get the authorization promp. Both pcs are running the exact same copy of windows 8.1 (installed from the same disk), are up to date and are both running the same usb drivers. So why can't I access the devices from this (my main) pc. The other devices are running older versions of android so I don't need to authorize the computer on these. They periodically show up as 'device' under adb but i cannot access their files as they show up as a removable device and when trying to access them windows says 'no media in the drive'.

I've done everything the same on both machines, the only difference is their hardware so I am wondering if there is anything hardware related that could be causing this problem. Could it be something to do with the motherboard?

The pc I can't access the devices with has an Asrock Z77 Pro4-M motherboard.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be going wrong here?

I am trying to gain root access to the device HTC one S for Custom ROM installation(CM) .
I have unlocked the boot loader but if i try to gain SU the device is stuck in "Entering Recovery..." prompt(Waited for 30 min).

Lost access to internal storage after rooting a Huawei G630. topic

So, after rooting my Huawei G630, i lost access to internal storage via the phone. I can access it via the PC.

- Rooted with towelroot
- Can acess internal storage with PC
- Can access internal storage with Root Explorer and i see my files
- Can't acess internal storage with a standard file manager. The directory is empty. Other apps say "no SD card inserted", and other say "Failed to save".
- Don't have a SD Card inserted.

Probably some stupid mounting issue or perrmission issue. Need some advice what to do. Thanks!

If I performs the “de-register account” function on the FireTV and register another account, will i loose rooted access to my AFTV? Do i have root the device again? Does it work like a factory reset?

At the moment my box is fully rooted with cwm, unlock bootloader, rbox menu and pre-rooted firmware installed on it.

[Q] Delayed mobile data access @ Android 5+ topic

Hello,

so i used the search for this but could not find anything @ google or here... So since I updated to 5.0 (or higher versions) i experience a big delay in receiving messages over the internet. This does not appear when i'm in any wifi.
It's something like "disable background data" => only if i start an app it will connect and get messages / mails or whatever. When i just leave my phone somewhere (without wifi) it won't receive messages (like from whatsapp) [or only with a big delay]. Where does this come from? Background data is enable and no network restricted. And as I said, it works perfectly in WiFis.

[Q] HELP with recovery, no usb access to nexus 7, not detecting with official cable. topic

Ok so long story short, i have a nexus 7 2012 which a rooted and installed cyanogen mod.
I was using it as a car install and works perfect, i'm using an otg cable to mount usb sticks, triggering soft shutdown and powering the nexus etc. So usb seems to be working fine.

Basically i removed the tablet it to modify the bootloader to turn on automatically with ac power applied, if the battery runs out i have to manually power on with button, but now i'm running into a problem.

Ever since taking the tablet out and trying to connect over usb, none of my computers detect the tablet.
I've tried different operating systems, drivers, cables etc etc.
Also changed from mtp to ptp in storage and also turned on usb debugging mode. If i connect an otg cable the nexus see's the otg and i can mount usb's etc.

So i thought i might try recover the nexus back to factory, maybe there was an issue with the rom corrupted etc, I've downloaded the original 4.2.2 firmware which is currently installed.
Booted into recovery and tried re-installing the 4.2.2 zip, it keeps aborting. A guy in work tried to use sideloader and connect via adb. no luck.

I'm not very familiar with the android platform so i've no other ideas what to do and other idea's how to recover now.

The guy i work with mentioned using a usb jig, would that be the way to go or can anyone else suggest some else that might help.

Block access apps to unnecessary parts topic

Hi everybody
Lately I installed some apps, and I've had to give permission to access unnecessary parts of my device that requested when installing the apps. For example:
1-a Dictionary have access to my contact.
2-a Car id finder read my phone status and identity.
3-a Toolbox has access to my camera to take pictures and video, whereas this toolbox has nothing to do with my images or videos.

So here's my question:
how can I block this kind of access after installing apps?

(2) Installed the CWM Recovery 6.xxxx,
(3) Get into Recovery Mode,
(4) Wipe Data and Factory Reset > 5. Wipe Cache > 6. Go to Advenced and Wipe Dalvik Cache > 7. Go to Mounts and Storage and Format System (Following instruction some the rom post somewhere)

But problem is ... forgotten "Copy the zip file to the INTERNAL SD CARD"

Now stuck at CWM recovery, with NO ROM in internal SD Card & unable to access to _External SD folder
And unable to get into OS, i guess bcz i format system Orz...

Need Help!
Anyway to (1) copy the zip file to internal SD Card with no need get into system
(2) let the CWM able to excess the zip file from external SD, instead of Internal SD?
(3) Anyway to solve?

[Q] Galaxy Mini II (GT-S6500D) Bootloop (Can't access recovery,download mode) topic

Hello guys, i have a problem with my bro's gt-s6500d..
the problem is the device is keeps rebooting (first turned on shows samsung logo, then endless vibrate only) and i cant go to recoverymode with buttons or adb and download mode (i can do it actually but only few seconds it restarts again). googling isn't helpful.

the device wont turned off, when i pulled the battery and put it on, it will turned on itself (like BlackBerry)

the device is not even modded or rooted. everything's still stock.

haven't try USB JIG or JTAG. Maybe both of those will be my last option (since they're cost some money) :D

I had rooted my grand quartoo(GT- I8552) with kingo ROOT and it was working fine. then i updated my phone. now when i click on superSu icon it says "There is no SU binary installed, and supersu cannot install it, this is a problem ! " i cannot enter into reboot mode. my phone also does not have root access now.

I have tried to again root my phone with Kingo root but the same problem exixts.

Hello guys and galls and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I recently bought a Canadian Note 4 (SM-N910W8) and I can't seem to get TB to fully access the external SD - in the sense that while TB can access/read/write the external SD card, it cannot protect backups.
I use a 128GB SanDisk, formatted as FAT32 (same as my old Galaxy S4) and I tried setting the backup folder's path to mnt/media_rw/extSdCard (this was the fix for the same issue when I used the Galaxy S4) but now it returns an error saying that mnt/media_rw is not accessible. Note that I have applied the KK patch using the SD Card fixer from Android market and every other app, including any root explorer CAN ACCESS/READ/WRITE the respective location without problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
