[Q] Note 2 stuck on boot logo/ Failed to mount directories topic

Hi Guys,

I have tried everything on my phone but nothing is working. I have used Heimdall to flash stock rom but it always says 'Claiming interface failed' although it is detected under utilities. Odin will always FAIL! on the first step.

One night my phone went really hot and when I woke up in the morning after turning it on this is what I saw. I haven't done anything or flashed. Please see picture below to see what happens when I enter recovery mode. I can access download mode fine.

When I enter download mode I get the following:

Hello, I can't mount /data /cache or /system from recovery (TWRP v2.8.3.0). Any help? Phone is HTC Sensation, S-OFF and unlocked.

[Q] SM-T310 died when wiping in TWRP, now "unable to mount cache" anyway to recover? topic

My TAB 3 8.0 SM-T310 died during wipeing in TWRP for some reason. Now I am stuck in recovery or download mode. TWRP is unable to install or wipe. I only get failed "Unable to mount cache" what ever I try to do. Is there anyway to help this tablet ? Thanks

OmniROM phone won't mount. topic

Hi folks,
Running the latest OmniROM nightlies on my Find 7, non-unified.

The phone won't mount on my Windows 8.1 box for some unknown reason.

It happened I think after I installed drivers for a Samsung S3 which I rooted and flashed. I uninstalled those and cleaned up the registery, still no dice.

When I plug the phone in the machine makes the mount beep sound, but the device does not appear. Other USBs do. I don't have another computer to test the phone mount on, however.

USB debugging on/off with the same effect.

Any other ideas? The computer doesn't normally have any problems mounting things.

I'll update this if I find a fix, or if more details are needed.

cannot mount ext partitons (or anything) under lollipop topic

Yes i can't mount any partiotion of the sd card to the phone under lollipop, i tried everything, this is because i can't use link2sd or foldermount, so i tried using commands in terminal emulator like mount -t sdext4 -o rw /dev/block/vold/179:66 /data/sdext2 , the command seems to works at first but the folder is still empty, i used the directory bind commands lime mount -o bind but this isn't working either, it seem that lollipop broke something in this phone or is using another metod.

So im stuck with my nexus with no OS... after flashing pure shamu it booted to just a password box... I input my password and it said i had corrupt data. I hit reset... wiped phone... all files GONE... Now what do i do. I cant mount to put recovery on.... I cant do anyting with this phoen right now... anyone had this happen... car mount for gps and lighter socket charger topic

Hi

I am looking for an accessory that would allow me to install my samsung in a visible position so that I could use it as a gps while driving, and in the meantime charge it on the lighter socket because I have no usb charger in my car.

The two types of accessories I found have the following problem:
-Some accessories can plus into the lighter socket but the cable is then too short to use the phone as a gps
-Some accessories would only plug through usb, and seem to be too short anyway.

I could also buy separately a usb accessory and a lighter socket adaptor, but I would prefer all in one.

Camera assessories (tripod mount & remote control) topic

Last month, after buying a time lapse camera app, I ordered a tripod head mount and remote control. for my HAM2 I have several DSL cameras and have a nice tripod as well as a monopod for hikes and situations where I can't set up a tripod but need stabilization. I got both items from Amazon and have to say they're good quality and work well. The documentation on the remote control indicated that you might have to download camera360 if it didn't work with the OEM camera. Fortunately, it works with the OEM HAM2 camera software and my time lapse camera.; however, rather tan pressing the "Android button" (this remote works for both Android and IOS), you press the IOS button. The photos I've posted show the tripod mount on my monopod--I was playing around to see about tilting to use as a "selfie stick"--it does. Can't mount backup path in CWM Recovery topic

Hello,

Running the stock ROM on a rooted N5. Flashed latest CWM Touch Recovery (v6.0.4.5) via Flashify, but when I get into the recovery and try to make a nandroid, it tells me that it cannot mount to backup path or whatever. I've never had this issue before running CWMR on my Nexus 5.

Previously, tried flashing TWRP via Flashify and it said that internal strage was 0mb. Not sure why no recoveries are working properly on Lollipop...

Anyone know how to fix these issues on rooted N5 running 5.0?

Can anyone help me can't install a new rom i keep getting error message 'Unable to Mount /system' I currently have no Rom installed so my phone is pritty useless atm.

GCM10 Game Control Mount, Xperia and PS3 Controller compatibility topic

A while ago I asked this question here on XDA regarding the GCM10 Game Control Mount and its compatibility with a PS3 controller. I didn't get that many detailed answers and I figured more people would be interested to know whether the GCM10 works with the PS3 controller. I used my Xperia Z1 instead of a Z3 as advertised but this obviously shouldn't make a difference. Since I won this from the Xperiablog community, I figured I should do the community a favour in return by doing this.





As you can see here, the GCM10 doesn't quite fit the PS3 controller - it almost closes, but you'll have to use a rubber band or come up with another creative idea to close it properly. Before I received this, I used to hold the Xperia phone and controller in place with only one bent wire which was very fragile. I used it in the bus once or twice, but really wouldn't have recommended this. Now this GCM10 already seems much better since it steadily holds the phone in place with the suction cup, which was the main issue with my previous wire solution.

The downside is that the GCM10's metal wire in the middle (which is actually covered in rubber - a very nice detail indeed) is slightly in the way of the square button, and you cannot completely rotate the analog sticks to the sides where the wires are. I'll have to do some more testing but as it seems now, although it does look quite nice in pictures I do not recommend the GCM10 if you only have a PS3 controller in conclusion. I could consider upgrading to a PS4 controller but this is kind of a waste of money as I don't actually own a PlayStation. But if you do, then this GCM10 really is a nice addition if you like to play mobile games. Especially for emulating games it would be amazing!

Can't mount /system in twrp 2.8.3.0 topic

I updated my twrp from 2.7.1 to 2.8.3.0. I haven't flashed a rom in a while, so I don't know for sure that it was working on the old one but I did install CM11 using 2.7.1. Now with 2.8.3 when I go into recovery and wipe is says it worked, but in red there is the error: "E: unable to mount /system".

I tried to repair it with twrp, using format /system as ext4, then wipe and it seems to work and mount correctly, but if I restart, into recovery the /system no longer mounts and gives the same error if I try to wipe it. When I select repair, it says the partition is 0mb. When I format as ext4 it then shows as the correct size (~1.8GB).

So bottom line is that when I try to flash a new rom, it gets stuck at the formating /system step. I think the problem is with twrp but I'm not sure. Any ideas what to do?

I have a T-mobile HTC one M7. It was CM11, but everything is wiped. TWRP 2.8.3. S-off unlocked bootloader.

How to create a mount point or symlink in /storage that survives reboots? topic

I'm on jelly bean 4.1.2 (NeatRom 6.4) which uses /storage/extSdCard. I'd like to either create another mount point for the external sd card in /storage/sdcard1 or a symlink /storage/sdcard1 that points to /storage/extSdCard and I want that to survive after reboot. Currently it does not. I've read around but am still stuck.

The symlink trick works, but is erased after reboot. I created it as:

I tried to add a mount point by editing /etc/vold.fstab but the mount point is not created after reboot. The line I added in /etc/vold.fstab is the 2nd line here:

SDCARD mount issue topic

today while m porting htc m8 rom from lenovo to umi x2 i got strange problem ...
the problem is none of internal or external sdcard are mount.
both device are MT6589 and both running on same android version 4.4.2 (kitkat). does any one face the same problem and does any one have the solution for this problem thanks in advanced.

I have a galaxy s5, g900h and is rooted and I installed philz touch recovery, but I have to reboot several time to get access to partitions in recovery mode, most of times it says e:can't mount /data and others messages.

Any idea to solve this?

Hi, I own a Allview x1 soul. There has been recently given a update for my phone and i cant install it. My phone is not rooted. After it restarts I get the error e can mount sd card. Ive looked up the problem on many sites and the solutions provided cant help me because i dont have any sd card slot. My phone only has internal memory of 32 gb. I dont have acces to the battery aswell. Can anyone help me. Thanks in advance.
