I have HTC Evo 3d gsm. My Hboot is 1.53.0007 and s-on. i want to root it but my usb cord is not working. It is not recognize by computer i try many cables may be a hardware issue. Is there any solution for this

unable to connect with USB cord topic
my sister in law asked me to factory reset her phone and update it to the most recent available for her sgh-t989 however it will not connect to either my desktop or my laptop (both running win 8) I've tried all the official drivers I can find...and I cant even get it into download mode to see if odin will connect
no update (rooting/custom recovery ect) have been done shes on 2.3.4 gingerbread.
