Stock Wifi in CM/AOSP based ROM topic

Hi,

I was using Kevinjoa and other versions of Cyanogen & AOSP (gee) for about two or three months, i really like them. Yesterday, to test some stuff, I installed ArtMOD v6; I don't really like the visuals and other things, but the Wifi is A LOT better for me. Places in my house where I didn't work before now works, even the 3G/LTE signal is better.

My question: is it possible to use a CM/AOSP with theses drivers? Is there a CM/AOSP based ROM that use stock drivers?

Well, it's a pretty well known fact how many advantages are there for new custom roms which are either based on AOSP or CM.

But what are the disadvantages of these roms?
What are the things I would be missing out if I moved from stock based roms to either AOSP or CM?
