[Q] Is iroot reliable? topic

I am trying to root my phone called Orion pro x500a. Most ways have failed. I get a loop on kingo, farmaroot doesnt work, towelroot doesnt work, when i change the numbers the apk crashes. So i have come across this program called iroot (formerly vroot) but firefox blocks the download :/
Should i use this, or does anyone else have any suggestions on what i should use to root?

Edit: I have also read that this phone is something called a mediatek phone, i found this app called kingroot. seems pretty shady to me so i hope to get some feedback. :)
