Failed ROM install with ODEN v3.10 and safestrap topic

So, I hit the wipe button when in recovery mode of safestrap and it wiped everything! However, before that I did do a back up and copied it to my computed. So it removed everything off of my phone including the OS. I put a microSD card in my wifes phone and uploaded 2 custom roms and put it back in my phone but it does not recognize the external SD. I downloaded a stock firmware file (N900VVRUCNC4.tar.zip) and tried to us it in oden but it gives me a failure code of

[Q] Can I downgrade 4.4 to 4.3 through ODEN? topic

I have two phones, one is running MOAR happily on 4.3, the other is bone stock and has been through all OTA updates to reach 4.4. I'd like to root and get MOAR on the OTA device. I do not have time to mess with our phones that much anymore and do not want to deal with troubleshooting two different roms and versions which is why I'm asking if this is possible.

If so, are there any special procedures for downgrading, or can I just pop it into ODEN and go?
