Hello everyone! How's it going... I'm a new member but a long tone reader on XDA Devs... Bought a new phone a week ago . it is an LG Optinus G E975... The problem I'm facing is that whenever I'm trying to install certain apps my phone acts weird... It refuses to install those apps saying it has low memory. Please help me out on this... Tried rebooting... Custom installer from market... Tried Google verify and install.. Rooted on clockworkmod V6.

Help needed with modem flashing... topic

Hello, I would like to flash the ML1 modem on my Verizon galaxy s3 using Odin, but every time I read info on this topic, I see people saying to use the pda tab, then others saying to use the phone tab. Can anyone tell me definitively which one I'm supposed to use? Thanks.

HELP NEEDED: downgrade from CM11 to CM10.2 - CWM 6.0.4.7 - installation error topic

Hello everyone
I have a S3 i747M, been using it stock ROMs for an year or so.
it was running on 4.4.2 KitKat, official update.

I rooted it a few days ago, installed clockword recovery touch 6.0.4.7 and installed CYANIDE-L CM11 LOLLIPOP ROM.
Which was fun until some things like the browser and chrome crashed and specially the camera doesn't like to work smoothly.

so I decided to install CM10.2 stable from the cyanogen website and ran into problems:

1 - wiped data/cache

2 - ran installer using the install zip from sdcard option - error: STATUS 7 - INSTALLATION ABORTED

looked up on the internet regarding the problem - found a fix that includes deleting bootloader? check program codes using NOTEPAD++ from the "updater-script" file in the directory "cm-10.2.1-d2att\META-INF\com\google\android".

3 - did the above mentioned fix, made a zip file - ran installer again -

got ERROR: INSTALLING UPDATE / INSTALLATION ABORTED.

4 - re-zipped the file using winzip -

ERROR: E: footer is wrong -- E : signature verification failed ---
QUES: INSTALL UNTRUSTED ZIP--- i press YES ---

ERROR: INSTALLING UPDATE / INSTALLATION ABORTED

I have searched a lot - changed the CWM version too but, no go.
Am I doing something wrong?
What can I do to install CM 10.2 - I need a stable but FAST phone, stock ROMs are dead slow.

Pre ME1 Kernel needed to unlock S4 topic

Hello you lot.

I have been trying to unlock a GT-I9505 from the 3UK network with no luck. I can't seem to get a code for it although I have paid two companies to do it so far and the FastGSM unlock USB server software that I prefer to use says that I need to downgrade the security firmware from ME1 to a previous version to continue.
Can anyone point me in the right direction here as I'm not sure what I am looking for. I currently have TWRP recovery installed and I am running the Omega ROM.
Any help much welcomed.

URGENT help needed. XtreStoLite USB problems. topic

Okay. Hi guys.
I'm having some horrible USB connection problems and I've no idea whether they are hardware/software. I'm leaning towards the former.
About a month ago I noticed while plugged into my charger, my phone wasn't charging. Wiggling the cable did little, if anything to help. But it only happened that one day, and after a few beeps and boops of connections coming and going, it had seemed to have fixed itself.

Yesterday I decided to upgrade from XtreStoLite KitKat to XtreStoLite Lollipop. I made a bit of a mess of it and accidentally wiped my entire OS/cache/data before even putting the ROM on the sdcard directory. Fortunately I had already upgraded the modem/bootloader and was able to sideload the ROM.

I say I was able to sideload the ROM successfully, but this is really where the issues started to resurface. The first dozen or so times I tried to sideload I got "ADB not recognized" errors in CMD. I tried all sorts of USB driver re-installations, and installing google USB drivers from the Android SDK etc and nothing was working. Lots of beeps and boops of drivers installing and USB connections being made. In a last ditch attempt, I went back to CMD and once again typed "sideload adb rom.exe" and by some random miracle it worked. But that was the LAST time. I tried again later and got the same error as previously.

Anyway... new ROM installed. I ran through the set-up process and plugged my phone in to transfer over the add-on pack so I could re-activate Samsung Kies connections in order to restore my apps/photos etc.
*B-beep-b-b-b-eep-boop-b-beep* The phone was wildly connecting and disconnecting. I unplug it, blow into the USB connector - try to see any bent pins, but can't see anything. After a few tries I get it to connect long enough for me to transfer the file. Kies reinstalled. Throughout this WHOLE process there has been FAR too many disconnects.

If I DO get my phone to connect - Kies is stuck eternally on "connecting". I have a feeling MTP mode is just broken - as NOTHING shows up in My Computer when in that mode. Odin 3.09 no longer sees my phone at all, and when I connect in Camera mode NONE of the .zip files I placed in the sdcard directory show in Windows at all. But they ARE there, as I can still install from .zip in recovery.

The phone seems to work fine. But I want to restore my Kies backup, add/remove the .zips in the main sdcard directory, and see my phone in Odin.
Please help me. I am scared.

[Q] Nano sim activation through Verizon - insight needed topic

I'm unsure if my problem has to do with Verizon or if I need to run a factory reset or try other options. Here's my story:

As soon as the phone arrived today, I unlocked, rooted, and flashed TWRP. No sim was in at any point since I didn't have a nano sim to use for it.

I tried cutting my Galaxy Nexus micro sim into a nano sim (apparently this works for some people), but the N6 states "no sim card - no service" so I don't think it worked.

Went to a Verizon store and got a nano sim for 28 cents, but the clerk couldn't activate it or bind it to my account since Verizon doesn't have the N6 IMEI numbers in their database. He told me to call support. Support was actually helpful, somewhat knowledgeable at least, and tried to activate the sim card over the phone.

Apparently the sim is pending activation from the phone, but I'm still getting the "no sim card - no service" errors. Does anyone know if this error means that it can't connect to the network, or if the phone thinks the sim is physically missing? There seems to be only one way to add the sim to the little tray as far as I can tell (gold face up, matched corner).

Has anyone else had similar issues? Should I try reverting (unroot/stock recovery/etc)? I'm not sure what the best approach is to activate the sim as I'm uncertain if the issue is still with Verizon or the N6.

Assistance needed - Latest Safestrap (3.75) topic

Some other members and I are working on Safestrap for another device and I was hoping that I could recruit someone to take a log for me from Safestrap so I can compare it to our build. Basically I just need someone to boot into SS, create a new ROM slot, go back to advanced, copy log to SD, PM me the log. If someone could do me that kindness I would be much appreciative.

Help - Looking for Some Direction - Updating Firmware, s-off needed? topic

Hi everyone, I'm Josh and I'm a long time reader of XDA. I'm really struggling with the next steps on my HTC one despite reading ton's of information on XDA and many other sources. I could use some help / clarification.

I recently purchased an HTC One m7 ATT version. I've rooted, installed SuperSU, TWRP and unlocked the phone. I was stuck on choosing a rom but I've hit a new snag. I was going to try ViperOne but noticed they insist you install the latest firmware updates first. Here's where I'm lost. I'm running the stock version that came with my phone when it was locked.
Kitkat 4.4.2, Sense 6
FW# - 5.12.502.2
Hboot - 1.57
Radio - 4m.27.3218.14

I can't seem to get the OTA's, how do you get OTA's, do you have to run official att service sim like gophone? Or can you use straight talk like I currently have? Or do you not even need a sim for OTA's? I don't currently have a sim in the phone, was waiting to get all this sorted first. Will OTA's break root? Would it be beneficial to turn the phone into international version to get OTA's faster and would I lost the 4g lte abilities of phone if I did this?

How do I go about putting these firmware updates on, is s-off required even if you use a signed RUU from "androidruu dot com" for example?
I would like to get the latest official firmware releases on the phone and get it updated to kitkat 4.4.4 from the official releases and then put a custom rom on of my choice.

Is any of this even necessary? Are firmware updates included with the Rom's? How is an RUU different than a rom?

Someone, if possible please help me get this all sorted out, I'm so confused, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] MOTO E Root help needed! topic

Hi guys, im new to this forum and i had a question regarding rooting my tracfone moto e. I followed the steps exactly as i was suppose to in order to unlock it but when i go to the motorola unlock page and i enter the device id it just tells me "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking". I know that the moto e is unlock-able:-, ive seen several do it, but im assuming tracfone has had motorola lock the phone so it can not be unlocked.
Anyway is there another way to unlock the bootloader on my moto e or is there a way i can root my phone without unlocking bootloader. I dont care about running custom roms(though it would be cool) i just want to at this point be able to install everything(app + data) on my micro sd card and i also want to install several other root needed apps.
Please help me out

Hi, I am not sure if this issue has been discussed earlier or not as I couldn't find it in the forum. Any help on below issue will be much appreciated.

I am currently using Samsung S4 I9500 which was working perfectly fine about 2-3 weeks back. But right after factory resetting the phone, out of blue my phones front camera stopped working i.e. It freezes then closes every time I switch from back camera to front. Then the next day I go on to use stock Internet browser and stock email app on my phone and that too stopped working same as above freezes then closes on its own.

I have tried to google the same issue but so far have not run in to anything that could be of any help to me. Therefore please let me know as to what should I do and kindly use the most simplest form of words as I am practically a newbie who doesn't even know how to root and install custom rom even :confused:

Any help would be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,

I'm a long-time member but seldom poster; owned several Samsung/Android devices in the past and rooted/installed custom ROMs in all of them, so I'm a not a newbie, have read the FAQs, searched, etc. I just got an I337M on my Fido renewal and was somewhat overwhelmed by warnings about requiring different approaches to rooting depending on the basebands, etc. Anyway, I have a couple of questions I did not find adequately answered and I hope you guys would be so kind to help. :)

In the course of composing this post, I took the plunge to root using CF-Auto-Root and install TWRP 2.8.3.0 - I guess Knox is now tripped and the warranty on my week-old phone is gone - oh well. Next on the agenda is to:
1) Unlock my phone;
2) Try to improve cell reception with a different modem (I have noticed I seldom have more than 2-3 bars while I have 2 other different devices in the same room on Koodo with full signal strength);
3) Flash @Danvdh's awesome 5.0.1 Lollipop GPE ROM.

My questions:
1) To unlock, it seems I have to downgrade to 4.2.2. first. @veryluckyguy suggests to get the MDJ ROM and only extract/flash the modem.bin and follow the rest of the instructions. Does the modem.bin get flashed over with any new complete ROM I flash or are they separate things? Will I lose the unlock when I flash a new ROM?
2) Are modems generally interchangeable across Android versions? For example, can I flash a 4.x modem in 5.0?
3) Anyone have experiences with poor reception on Fido/Rogers and solve it by flashing in different modem? If so, which?

New KitKat S Note app on Galaxy Apps store for Note 8 (No porting needed!) topic

This guy was posted back on Dec 19, 2014, but I just noticed it in my install list today. Hi Everyone,

Can anyone provide me with a link to download a retail ROM for my XT1033 (4.4.4 - Dual Sim) that contains Spanish language? I saw a couple of link on some other post but mostly are not working. The filefactory link does not have umtsds versions.
