[Q] Upgrading to 5.0 topic

Hello guys,
i got a d802 , the european version from germany,
i rooted it to get access to some apps and ive been told that you cant update the phone(with the original update) if its rooted.
can i update through the phone although it is rooted ?
if so, did the update release yet ?
in addition, does it contain all the languages incl. hebrew ?

[Q] Upgrading Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini ST15i to 4.0 topic

Howzit going guys.Im in the process of UPDATING my old Sony Xperia mini X10 (served me well for 5 years) to a newer Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini ST15i

My question is, Do I just plug it in to my Sony companion and it will upgrade by itself or do I have to do some rooting and stuff?

According to Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini ST15i specs it is running on 2.3(Gingerbread) right now but upgradeable to 4.0 ( I beleive Ice cream sandwich)

My main purpose is to maybe speed it up a bit plus theres so many apps that requires Android 3.0 and above so just staying with 2.3 my apps are limited

[Q] Upgrading bootloader beyond I747UCUfNJ1 topic

I'm interested in putting cyanogenmod on my galaxy S3, and I've hit a snag with the boot loader version. It looks as if the ROM won't install because I'm using bootloader version I747UCUfNJ1. I've tried using CWM to install a couple of other bootloader versions, but they've all said they cannot upgrade from my current version.

My question is, does anyone have a list of bootloader version numbers? I've read a number of places that I can't go backwards, but I don't know which version I could use to go forwards.

Upgrading SD card, what's important to transfer? topic

This might be a stupid question, I am upgrading my SD card, the current card has like nearly 60gb of data. Only about half of that are the photos/music... Stuff o know I loaded.

What are the important files/folder to move to the new card? Or should I just transfer my dcim/camera, music, TB folder... And let android replace whatever else it might want?

I've been looking for an actual guide or directions on how to update your Amazon fire TV from Gotham to kodi. I don't know if it's just an easy step or if there's something involved. Can someone help me on how to actually update XBMC to kodi. It would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure others would like it to.

Stock recovery and upgrading Lollipop with future OTAs after rooting topic

Hello everyone,

I'm back to a nexus 6 after a very short stint with a 6+.
A little background for my questions: This is the very first time that I rooted a phone. I'm rooting to only install these 3 apps:
adaway
titanium backup
greenify

I do not plan on using any custom ROMs or kernels.
I see from all the guides and tutorials that people also create a custom recovery whenever they root. I haven't done that yet and wasn't sure if I had to. I would like to maintain the stock recovery that I have currently so that I can go back to stock if I unRoot. My questions are:

1. Am I wrong in thinking that I can still use the stock recovery if I unRoot?
2. When a new OTA comes out and I flash it (since I'm rooted an no longer can install them automatically), will that also upgrade my still stock recovery properly?
3. Following up on the previous question, when I upgrade manually because I'm rooted, would that be a fresh install where I have to go in and configure things the way I like them again (system settings, apps and their settings, root the phone again, etc)?

I tried flashing to 6.0.7.9 from I think 6.0.4.1... I flash the zip from within the loader reboot and doesn't reflect the version I want to change with. ..

Checking to see if anyone has ever had success flashing via zip inside the loader. ..?

If so possibly a step I am missing. ..?

I suppose I can always use Odin to get this done but prefer not to if I don't have to. ..
