[Q] How to create a theme for galaxy fit?? topic

I have knowledge about programming, creating android games and live wallpapers but have little knowledge about programming of rooted devices and related. I know creed's rom is very good and I use it almost daily, I want to make a theme for my phone, as I would be making some cool graphics. If it turns out to be succesful I would also share with you. Can you tell me how to make one? I looked and found three themes for creed's rom. Also I don't know what ddk??'s mean. I heard that you just have to change some images in some specific files like framework, theme.zip etc. with custom images, that would be easy? Would you help me?

Where would I ask for someone else to create a app for me topic

I would like to 'commission' an app (that might be a java app from the playstore, or code installed via recovery)

The app I am looking for would need su privilege, or other ways to automatically shutdown / reboot phone

I submitted this forms post a while ago and got absolutely no responses... So I think I put it in the wrong spot, or asked the questions wrong

-------------

I have searched for a particular application on the Interwebbies and across XDA and have not been able to find what I'm looking for.
I have searched across XDA for the right forum to "petition" for the creation of an app that meets my needs and found no obvious "appropriate" thread. (In both cases the failure could be my searching skills)
So I have chosen this thread as my best guess for where to plea for help. (And accept wholeheartedly if my post needs to be moved)

I am looking for an android app to solve the following need, within the following constraints, etc.

1) a primary, required, function of the app is to shutdown/power off (or reboot) the device if a human does not interact with the app within a preconfigured time period.
1a) the minimum definition of interact is
1aa) a human who intends to re-arm the timer must be physically within the maximum distance of at least one onboard sensor or radio of the device. (I am constraining the need to be ”not triggerable from a remote sensor”, however I do not deny that may be valuable)
--and--
1ab) said human must cause a onboard sensor to "register their presence" (or send a "signal" or trigger to one of the devices radios) in a way that would be generally accepted by the programming community as unlikely to be accidentally triggered. (To avoid re-arming without valid interaction)

2) a secondary, optional, function of the app is to obscure its primary purpose
2a) for instance have innocent other functions (like a text editor), or be integrated in a way that this app is just part of list of functions (like integrated into the settings app)

3) the app can be an "Android App" (Like: a java based APK). Or an "Android Extension/Tweak" (Like: a java, C, or shell based alteration of Android OS)
3a) if it is possible without root, it would make the app more "reusable" for other's need. If not a Xposed module is a valid solution (to gain root without this app needing to specifically acquire it)

4) if a setting and configuration function is not supplied to the user, then the expected interaction is to "cause pre-explained process to come to the foreground" and the expected timer is 24 hours from boot but reset the timer to 24 hours from the most recent time a correct and successful "interaction" occurs.

---
The underlying purpose of the app is to help one maintain security, confidentiality, etc. of a device that is fully encrypted. The goal is, if the human who caused the device to be encrypted: does not check in, the device would revert to its pre-passphrase state

Aaron
Reply or PM me for clarifications.

PS there is no bounty for this app at this time. But I am not oppose to compensating, but I have a pizza level budget

PPS I have 15+ years in the IT field with emphasises on security and encryption. But my programing skills are generally MS windows based (and generally in forensic, automation, and Windows administration tasks) though I can read and give feedback, bug reports, etc. for almost any language.

How to create a mount point or symlink in /storage that survives reboots? topic

I'm on jelly bean 4.1.2 (NeatRom 6.4) which uses /storage/extSdCard. I'd like to either create another mount point for the external sd card in /storage/sdcard1 or a symlink /storage/sdcard1 that points to /storage/extSdCard and I want that to survive after reboot. Currently it does not. I've read around but am still stuck.

The symlink trick works, but is erased after reboot. I created it as:

Code:

su
mount -o rw/remount /
ln -s /storage/sdcard1 /storage/extSdCard

I tried to add a mount point by editing /etc/vold.fstab but the mount point is not created after reboot. The line I added in /etc/vold.fstab is the 2nd line here:

Code:

dev_mount sdcard1 /storage/extSdCard auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.2/mmc_host/mmc1
dev_mount sdcard1copy /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/s3c-sdhci.2/mmc_host/mmc1

I tried replacing sdcard1copy with sdcard1 to no avail.

Can anyone please help?

[TUTORIAL] Create Flashable Zip From Nandroid Backup [Complete] topic

Create A Flashable ROM From Your Nandroid Backup

►►Requirements◄◄

An OS (Linux/Windows)
Your CWM Or TWRP Backup
7zip On Windows
Archive Manager On Linux (Preferably Download p7zip)

► ► Get Started ◄ ◄

FOR CWM

#1. Transfer the CWM backup from Phone to PC.
#2. Extract system.ext4.tar file with any of the archive apps like Winrar or 7zip, you will get the system folder of your device containing all the files.
#3. Gather the boot.img from the CWM backup.
#4. Now collect a META-INF folder from any custom ROM which is made for your device. Make sure you get the correct Meta-Inf folder, else the Zip won’t work and might worsen the condition of your device.
#5. Select the META-INF, System folders and the boot.img and right click your mouse and select add to Archive.
In the Archive settings, choose the extension of the compressed file as Zip (Make sure of this part)
#6. That’s it, your flashable Zip is now ready and you can flash it using any custom recovery.

For TWRP Backup

#1. Transfer the TWRP backup from Phone to PC.
#2. You’ll see a file named system.ext4.win which is the System partition backup of your device. Rename it to system.ext4.tar (Changing its extension from .win to .tar)
#3. Extract the system.ext4.tar using an archive software like Winrar or 7zip.
#4. If your TWRP backup is not in compression mode, you will directly get the system folder, else you will get a file named system.ext4, which should be renamed again to system.ext4.tar and extract it to get the system folder.
#5. Take the boot.emmc.win file and rename it to boot.img.
Now collect a META-INF folder from any custom ROM which is made for your device. Make sure you get the correct Meta-Inf folder, else the Zip won’t work and might worsen the condition of your device.
#6. Select the META-INF, System folders and the boot.img and right click your mouse and select add to Archive.
In the Archive settings, choose the extension of the compressed file as Zip (Make sure of this part)

►►Some Important Notes◄◄

#1. On Linux If You Are Confused To See .tar.a files, don't worry rename it to .tar and then they will work on linux.
#2. Windows Users Should Use 7 ZIP, They Can Download It From Here :- http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
#3. Use Meta INF Preferably From CM Zip. (Just Incase)
#4. Your Final Folder Should Look Like This Before You ZIP It!

Can't store external resources or create APK ready! topic

Hello! First of all sorry for my english.

So I've just learned how to create my Zooper Widget APK Template. So when i modify and export template everything looks good except that i can't store external resources or create apk zip ready file, its not possible to check that options even if i can save template. If i save template and open it again there aint any fonts or bitmaps, its only simple widget with standard font. I did put 1 number in my eclipse strings.xml file so that everyone can reserve template. Ive also tried to set it on 0 but that only gave me a message that author is not allowed to save template. Anyone have idea what I'm missing here ?

Thanks in advance!
