Chrome and other browsers really slow, but only on WiFi... topic

For several weeks now, I have noticed that Chrome takes 5 - 10 seconds to load almost any webpage, but only if Wifi is on and connected. On LTE, its no more than 2 seconds to load a new (non-cached) page. This includes my home network (50 Mbps, Linksys EA6100 Router), work (Cisco waps, 10Mbps), and a university network (Speedtests show 160Mbps). I was getting this issue on Stock 5.0.1 and I'm still getting it on Cataclysm 5.0.1 (ElementalX Kernel). I also cleared Chrome's cache and it got a little better. Just a little though. I downloaded Firefox and it does pretty much the same thing. I'm at a loss.

[Q] Mobile Internet Super Slow on HAM2 topic

I mostly use my phone on Wifi but occasionally switch to mobile data. We don't have 4G where I live. The three types of networks available are GPRS (2G), EDGE (2.5G) and HSP (3.5G). Using my previous phone on Mobile Data, I always see the symbol "H" indicating that I on a 3G network. Here are some observations:
1. Since I started using the HAM2 I always see "4G" instead of "H" even though I'm sure it can't be 4G. I can use the internet but its ridiculously slow.
2. Sometimes, when I'm some far away place, I see "E" indicating that I'm using EDGE which means that the "4G" I usually see does not erroneously represent EDGE.
3. I thought the general network in my area was slow. I tried someone else's SAMSUNG phone. The usual "H" was there and the speed was as is expected of a 3.5G network

So, whats wrong with my phone's internet speed. I've verified that I'm using the same access point as everyone else. But internet is just too slow. Usually in SAMSUNG phones, there's an option where you are allowed to switch from 3G to 2G data networks to save some battery but the HAM2 lacks this option. Instead, when defining the access point, there's an option at the bottom called "Bearer" where there are three options; "LTE", "eHRPD" and "Unspecified". Switching to anything other than "Unspecified" does not work.
Is there something that is causing the internet to be slow on my phone or the HAM2 doesn't support 3G data ?

Foxfi usb tether (very slow speeds) topic

So I just got my verizon note 4, about 4 days ago. I did some research to tether hidden, since I have the unlimited plan still, with Verizon. Now, I downloaded, and paid, for foxfi and foxfi addon, tried it out last night, and the tether speeds were horrible. I actually stream to twitch with my 4G usb tether connection, and with my previous phone (Iphone 5) I could stream , usb tethered, with a solid 1800-2200kb/s steady connection. When I tried the note 4, and fofxi usb tethered, last night, I got a unsteady 1000-1200kb/s connection.

Anything I need to do to fix this? I am sitting at the same spot in my house, as I was with the iphone. Also, my sleek 4G booster, that I sometimes used with my Iphone, makes the connection worse on the 4G, which is weird.

Basically my jailbroke Iphone 5 4G usb tether speeds were twice as fast as this note 4 using foxfi.... Any suggestions? (using the standard usb cable that came with my note 4, and tried multiple usb3.0 and 2.0 usb ports)

Galaxy s3 (LTE) slow charging (very weird behaviour) topic

My S3 is charging slow.
Unless I plug in and unplug every 5 minutes.
Basically I downloaded the galaxy current monitoring app and whenever I plug my max current is 1000ma but it starts to drop until it reaches 0. I have tried different chargers and cables and some don't even get me to 1000ma.

I don't think its a problem with my USB port since it starts well and it drops.

Could it be my battery?

Well, i've got nothing agianst it but there's something about it that truly sucks.

Here's my old thread about this.

The Bad method:

• You Record: 00H:00M:10s@240fps (Resolution doesn't matter)


• You get a Video with 80 Seconds @ 30fps


• ...and Muted Audio ♫♪


• So that ►x1.0 isn't realtime!

Well, the iPhones record in realtime, but they can only record for 20 Seconds (real time equilevant)

Yes, you're right!

...but the Smartphones which use the sucking method of taking Slow-Motion Videos encode the output file being Slown Down.

The one and only advantage of this method, is for Media-Players which haven't got a Fast/Slow motion playback mode so that ►x1.0 makes the Slow Motion Effect Visible.


But i'd like to have ►x1.0 is Realtime-Equivalent!

So the Correct way in my opinion [IMO] is this:

• If you Record 00:00:10@240fps


• The Output File must be also 00:00:10 encoded at 204FPS and with ♪♫ Audio from ALL Microphones of the Phone!

Also some other Devices use the WRONG Method:

• Lumix FƵ1000 - Great Camera but Slow Motion Feature uses WRONG WAY.


• Canon IXUS 255 HS

But those Devices use a Good Method!

• Sony RX100/3


• Canon Powershot 510HS and 50HS


• Sony FDR-AX100

Slow net conection,low quality in games after updating my N8010 to kitkat topic

Soo as the title say when i connect to wi fi net the connection is somehow slow i mean for example when i go in youtube and when i open a video it just loads to long no mater on what distance im from the modem the same goes for browsing by my ap Opera browser for android and also the download speed is slowed after the update and second problem is low quality in games for example i just downloaded asphalt 8 airborne on my tab and when i opend it the begining screen was in a black and white flag i mean i see the menus but the car in the background is like in a back and white flag on high visual quality but when i set it on low visual quality it fixes but its in low quality like in 480p XD ow and i almost forgot the batery somehow drains fast now soo this happends after i updated my Sasmung galaxy note 10.1 N8010 from 4.1.2 to kitkat 4.4.2 soo please help me :crying:

Is anyone else having issues with WiFi being very slow on 5.0? I've tried liquid and the unofficial cm12 and on both my WiFi seems to run very slow sporadically. Sometimes great but usually takes everything a while to load.

MHL dock slow and better performance topic

Hi guys,
I'll explain in short my problem with my notes 4 ...
I bought the base samsung with hdmi (mhl) and when the integrated use on my samsung tv works perfectly but when I go to run games like Real Racing 3 or need for speed most wanted the game slows down heavily enough to make it unplayable!
The TV when I connect the terminal is self-imposed on 1920x1080x30.
Who among you can try and who knows give me some advice or answer?

Wifi on my HTC One seems to lock up, stutter and pictures etc are slow to load.
If I turn off Wifi and back on everything is fine for a couple minutes.
Then things slow down again.

I restored my phone (google backup was on though), replaced the router (with the same router).

Everything worked fine up until 2 weeks ago.

Wifi on other routers works fine.
Could I have old cache somewhere?

[Q] Phone gets unreasonably slow when song changes topic

It bewilders me everytime it happens. I'll be just doing general things on the phone, listening to music in the background, RAM usually on the 800mb+ spectrum, and then when the song changes, at one point my phone was near frozen for almost 40 seconds, while nothing else is going on. I disabled most bloatware, and very obsessively monitor my RAM usage and currently running apps, but when a song changes, whether natively stored on my SD card, or Pandora, the phone gets crazy slow. The weird part to me is, for example, I'll be playing a PS1 game and have my framerate counter in the top, and it'll usually be at 60(Full speed), but when the song changes in the background that I'm listening to, the game will seem like it's running at like 5 fps for like 15 seconds, and yet my framerate counter still displays the normal 60, as if my phone isn't actually slowing down, but it really is. Any way to remedy this?

Wifi slow at home, but not at work topic

We just switched to Xifinity's 105 Mbps internet. I can regularly see 125 Mbps + speeds wireless on my laptop, where as my Nexus 7 routinely gets 35-45 Mbps. When I launch the facebook app it literally takes about 45 seconds for the news fee to load and even then after that many seconds the images on the feed load one by one. When updating apps on the playstore they take about 15-20 seconds to start, but when they do, the update jumps 8-12 mb at a time finishing in a few seconds. Apps like youtube and google chrome seem to function as normal with the problem only being Facebook. I brought my Nexus to work with me and with a much slower wireless connection Facebook loaded almost instantly. Here is everything I have done as well as the information about the two WiFi connections:

Troubleshooting steps completed:
Uninstalled/re-installed Facebook app
wiped the Cache partition
updated Facebook app the latest version

WiFi settings at home:
WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK (recommended by Xifinity, and honestly gives the best performance)
I tried messing around with WPA2-PSK (AES) & WPA-PSK (TKIP) but for some reason I was being restricted to a throughput of 19mbps-34mbps no matter what I did. Given this, I didn't bother checking the Nexus when I was utilizing those settings as I knew I wasn't going to use them since I was getting such poor speeds.
Laptop detects it as WPA-2 (Personal) Encryption: AES

WiFi settings at work:
802.1x EAP
Laptop detects it as WAP-2 (Enterprise) Encryption: AES

The previous router I had I was using WPA2-PSK (AES) and was getting the maximum 45mbps speed I was paying for and had no issues on my Nexus. I'm assuming this router is somehow restricting the Nexus on WiFi, but wanted to post here for feedback/suggestions before I hard reset it and potentially not rectify the issue.

Has anyone ran into something similar and fixed it?

Does anyone have issue with Text Message being slow? I'm using the stock Message App come with AT&T. It always take about at least 3 or 4 second to complete the sending (i.e. the spinning circle on every text). No matter how short or long the text is. Especially, group text is very slow. I think it's not the Network issue because I had Note 3 before and never have the issue.

Very slow font loading topic

Hello,
I used themer on CM11 for some months but the last month I had an 4.03 which isn't supported.
Yesterday I flashed CM12(android 5.02) and I started to use themer again. The problem is that in this latest version of themer when I try to change a font, the loadind of fonts is very slow and very often crash the app. Sometimes after 3-5 minutes I can see the list and choose a font, but this is very slow and I need to change fonts(to support my language) very often. I tried another app which loads a fonts list and it does it almost immediately, so doesn't seem to be device's or rom's problem.
Is there any faster way to change fonts of a theme? For e.g by editing an xml file or something?

Pixelation and slow drawing on lockscreen only! topic

I have a minor niggle but wonder if it's due to something I'm doing wrong. I have full backup's of my TA partition and flash custom and stock rom's as and when I choose. I just have an annoying issue when i turn my screen back on it shows garbage pixels on the screen and slowly draws the screen til the bottom and then flashes to a properly drawn screen. Can I remove it or learn to live with it? :confused:

I have an issue with my hox, I am running ARHD with the kernel included. The problem is about the battery % stat,it's not updating correctly,for example battery is 80%,I use the phone for 5 mins then suddenly its 72%,at 2% it lasted 1 hour on full brightness. Also it does not always update after sleep (for example I go to sleep,battery is 50%,when I wake up is still 50%,after I use it 1-2 mins is 45%). I've tried to do a full discharge,charged the phone to full while it was off,booted it then charged it some more,deleted the batterystat.bin . Problem still occurs and it happend on other roms (for example MIUI V5). Any ideas?
