[Q] G3 Headphones - Changing function of volume buttons topic

Hi

I want to know if it's possible to change the function of the volume buttons on the LG G3 headphones - it's currently set to volume buttons...

Maybe a long-press to skip tracks would be helpful.

Any ideas on how to implements?

(Feature Request) Allow us to increase headphone and speaker volume topic

Please, Allow us to increase headphone and speaker volume in the rom for all devices by using Alsamixer app (in google play) and editing the file in system/etc/sound by es text editor (included in Es file explorer) to include maximum values as read by Alsamixer app for headphone and speaker volume in the file then make it permanent with the rom (not changed by rom updates) as this post:

The Z3 speaker top and bottom have different volume when playing music?? topic

Volume Way too Low!!! topic

Let me start off by saying yes I have searched.

I am upgrading from a rooted VZW S5. I was able to apply a patch to boost the volume.

On the Note 4, being that it there is no working root yet, does anyone know a way to boost the headphone volume. Even the stock equalizer is no good. Any tweak seems to lower the volume.

Any help would Ummmm help!

Increase Headphone Volume Output topic

I was wondering if anyone have come over a way to increase the volume output on the G2? I've recently bought a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80Ohm, and it is a little too heavy for the G2 to drive from stock.

What needs to be done is to send s higher voltage (?) through the headphone jack in order to get the most out the headset instead of just cranking up the volume which will clip and distort. Has anyone encountered anything that can help?

I know the Nexus 5 users have an app called Nexus 5 Real Volume Booster which modifies an XML-file, but I haven't tried it, and I don't know if it works well.

Thanks in advance 😀

[Q] Allwinner A13 Tablet : volume +/- button works in normal mode but NOT in Recovery topic

Hi XDA! Happy 2015!

I was given an A13 for Xmas. After exploring, everything works fine. I decided to look at it's Recovery, in case I should ever need it. It was then I discovered that, in Recovery, the Vol +/- button fails to function!
When booted into Recovery, the top option, "reboot system now", is highlighted. Vol +/- doesn't move the highlight; thereby excluding me from selecting any other option-
apply update from ABD/ wipe data/ factory reset/ wipe cache partition/ apply update from internal storage/ apply update from external storage/ apply update from cache.
Also, in Recovery mode, there is a line at the bottom of the screen (written in gold colour) saying "E:fopen error /data/miraGSensorOffset.txt".

So, after the supplier refused to help, (I cannot supply them with the order id no.), I have reasoned the problem to be a software issue (as the Vol. button works in Normal mode but not Recovery).

I've decided to root & flash it myself; (I admit that I will have to learn this as I go, as I've only done my Wildfire S & what an experience that was!).

Root checker app says it's not rooted. Before I start though, I know at some point I will probably need to able to boot to Recovery whilst the tablet is off. The issue here is Vol +/- fails when the tablet is off; it powers on normal mode every time, so Recovery can only be reached by: Power on> Settings> Backup & reset> Recovery mode ("Reboot into the system in Recovery Mode. Can clear the data or system upgrade").

Is root & flash the correct approach? And if yes, what about the inability to reach Recovery WITHOUT powering on? Will this not become an issue?

Thanks in advance,
Gerry.

[Q] Volume Rocker not Working topic

My volume rocker is not working. This seems to be a common issue. Has anybody found a fix for this, or what is causing this?

[Q] HTC One (M7) Volume button not working topic

Hi, I've just bought a HTC One (m7), but the volume button doesn't seem to work. Apparently there's a known bug with one of the newer Android versions, but that should be software only. This seems to be a hardware issue, since I can't get into recovery mode (Power+Vol Down) either.

Android version: 4.4.3
Software version: 6.11.980.12

Does anyone have any advice for how I could fix this? I'd like to at least confirm it's a hardware issue, rather than just software, but if there's something I can do to get it working again, I'd be willing to try.

Thanks.

How to increase the bluetooth volume on an android device topic

Recently I edited the mixer_path.xml file to increase the headphone and speaker volumes of my Ls980 running Resurrection 5.xx. However I use bluetooth headphones very often with my device and this volume was unchanged. Can anyone point me to the line in the mixer_path.xml file that corresponds with the bluetooth volume? Thanks.

Lollipop - Alarm clock volume changes if headphones are connected. topic

I sadly realized ,being late at work, that alarm clock volume changes if you have headphone connected and you are listening to whatever media.

I usually fall asleep with my headphones on listening on something at the lowest volume. This morning I couldn't hear the alarm clock because its volume had followed the headphones' one becoming very low.

I made some test and found out that during media playback the media volume afflicts the alarm clock one, so that if you are listening at high volume you are definitely going to hear the alam.

Obviously I am talking about the speaker volume. The alarm clock is also playing through the headphones but it is easy to lose these during a night sleep.

Anyone experienced this too?

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm currently running rastapop!
I didn't have this problem with other lollipop roms but it could also have been unlucky today not to hear the alarm clock ringing being the volume affected the same way with other lollipop rom

Get volume control working? topic

Hey guys,

Bought some nice headphones with the 3 button control on it. The center button works for pausing/playing and skipping to the next track, but the volume controls don't work for some reason... Can I do something to get them working? Maybe download something? Change some settings?

Thank you!

Nexus 6 / Lollipop volume control topic

So we all know about the changes to the mute function/priority system Google put into Android 5.0. I am fine with the None/Priority/All settings they have provided and am not looking specifically to leave that paradigm.

What I am looking is for more granular control over the sounds and volumes when in the "All" setting. Currently, under All, there are three volumes that can be set. Ring, Alarm, and Media. I would like to be able to expand on those options.

This came to me last night as a real life use case that presented itself in a very frustrating way. Three situations combined as I was heading to bed. First, my battery was about 10%, meaning that when it got below 15% the system sound for a low battery triggered. Second, the USB cord on the charger on my nightstand is worn so the connection in the USB port is not fantastic. This combination caused the phone to every few seconds make the low-battery system sound. The third component of the situation was that 90% of the time (number pulled out of my butt) when I hit the volume up/down buttons on the side of my N6 all I get is the Media adjustment, as pictured in the screenshot below:
Media volume

This left me with no way to set the phone to None. Google in their wisdom has decided that the only place you can set the All/Priority/None setting is on the window that pops up after hitting the volume buttons. When those options don't appear due to only Media volume popping up, it can put one in a tight spot.

I tried to open up the settings and manually set the below settings to 0, however as none of the options are "System" setting them to 0 had no effect:
Sound settings

This left my phone making a racket when my wife and I were attempting to go to sleep, and no way to make it stop.

Because of this real life use case, I want an app or some tool or setting that would allow more granular control of the settings.

First, I would like the option to set the All/Priority/None right in the sound settings screen.
Second, when in "All" I would like to set more than just Ring, Media, and Alarm.

My idea would give a settings screen similar to the constructed screenshot below:
Suggested settings

I am aware that this is jammed together and cluttered. This is just an idea. This would allow being able to set vibrate on or off on any given type of sound. It would allow setting specific components (such as System) to 0 while leaving other things active.
The linking options could be cleaned up, but the idea is that you can link volumes together so that if you adjust the primary others in the same category would match. So in my example, if you set the Default ring to max then default notifications, individual contact settings, and SMS sound volumes would follow and match. If you set System, then Media would follow. These are just examples.

This is all just an idea I am hoping could be done. I am *not* a developer. I can usually read code and figure out what is going on at a general level, but I do not have the skills to make this happen. It would be awesome if someone could take this idea and run with it, to fill this gap (in my opinion) that Google has left in our device control options. If this were to be a paid app, I would pay. The most awesome would be to be able to install this as a part of the system so that the volume buttons would be able to be integrated.

Thoughts?

[Q] Volume buttons stopped working, stuck in bootloop now topic

I appears I have damaged the hardware volume buttons of my Shield Tab. I don't know exactly when, I suspect either when I unlocked it(it was working while I was doing the unlocking), or when I dropped it the day before that, but I know for sure it was working immediately after that.

I was living with it fine using an volume app, the shield controller and my bluetooth headset buttons, but now I'm in trouble.

I was trying to get it rooted, which I didn't do after I unlocked it. Now it will not boot. Lack of volume buttons makes it so I cannot fastboot the device with hardware.

Right now I am very lucky ADB is working when it's booting, but I am afraid to do anything at all to it, as if I loose ADB while it's trying to boot it will be effectively a brick without the volume buttons working.

I think I need to take it apart and figure out if the vol buttons hardware is the issue, or something worse.

Is there any teardowns of the Shield Tablet? How do I open it?

How can I set Volume buttons to control ONLY "Music, video, games and other media"? topic

Hi, there's one thing I really hate about Smartphones, and it's the Volume button and it's function. Sometimes I accidentally press it and the phone goes from Mute to Sound, it changes the volume of the ringtone, etc.

So, If you go to Settings, Sound, Volumes, you see:
1. Music, video, games and other media
2. Ringtone
3. Notifications
4. System

I want that when I press the volume button, it only changes the volume of "Music, video, games and other media". I don't want it to change the mode of the phone, or the sound of the ringtone or whatever.

What can I do?

By the way, I have a Samsung Galaxy Core II with Android 4.4.2, though this is a generic question. THANKS! :)
