Not sure about the s-pen topic

Hi all,
I am really turn between the LG G3 and the NOTE 4
in my country, the price difference is about 250$

my "fear" regarding the NOTE 4 is that i wont really use the S PEN
I feel that its a cool thing to play with for about a week and then forget about it.

i saw lots of reviews and the main thing i saw were:
write phone numbers and name to put as a contact- seems like an action i do once a month. tops
send screen shots- nice but not an everyday task for me.
doodle- not relevant for me
all pen apps are for samsung apps and not for GMAIL and so...??

So.... am i missing something?
if any of you feel like sharing what you really do with the s-pen, especially as a student or at work (engineer) it will be really great.

My phone use profile consists off:
- i rarely use the cell for talking :)
-a lot of browsing- looking up for articles (as a student or at work)
-GMAIL
-WHATSAPP
-games: rarely

THANKS

Not sure if Nexus 6 Decrypted or not? topic

When I first got my Nexus I loaded Pure Shamu ROM and decrypted using the method I found on the thread. When CM12 came out I loaded and wiped but asked for a password. So I tried decrypting just like I did with the Pure ROM. It still asked for a password. I then tried loading the franko kernel and it worked. However when I check the Security settings it says I'm Encrypted. Does that matter at all? When I was running Pure it definitely said Decrypted.

Bought Xiaomi Piston 2 from Geekbuying, not sure if they are original (pics attached) topic

Hello,

I bought Xiaomi Piston 2 from Geekbuying. Received them today and I'm not sure if they are original.
The inner part of the cone that connects the wire to the earphones has the letter L or R in embossed black (not orange/brown like mentioned in some forums).
The outer part of the cone has embossed "mi" logo.

They sound OK.

Are they original?

Thanks

Lots of problems with my N5 not sure if lollipop related topic

Ok, i will start from the beginning. I have had my Nexus since December of 2013. all has been great with the phone. I updated to 5.0 when it became available to me. i am on the east coast of Canada. worked great for a couple of weeks, didn't have any of the WiFi or battery issues that other people were having.

Then a few weeks ago i noticed that my phone didn't charge overnight like usual. It was only at around 30%. No when i plug my charger in (AC) it says charging, but is very erratic with the charging. Sometimes it wont charge and the battery starts to drain, sometimes it will keep the phone at whatever % it was at, not going up or down, and sometimes it will charge very very slowly, by slowly i mean if i leave it overnight it may go up 5-10%. doesn't matter if phone is on or off.

What I have tried. factory restore......twice. no luck.
new battery..... no luck.

my next thing was to downgrade to 4.4 only problem is my laptop does not recognize it anymore, neither does my wife's. i get the message "The last usb device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows doesn't recognize it.

I have tried multiple wires/chargers.

I also cannot get into recovery mode. with the phone off i hold power up/down. that works, but when i scroll to recovery and hit the power key, the android appears on the screen with a red triangle on him and the words "No Command" underneath.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before i use the phone as a hockey puck next time i am at the rink.

oh and here is the fun part. after the problem started i called rogers who i got the phone from and they told me my warrant expired 4 days previously and they would do nothing to help me.

And thank you if you made it all the way to the bottom of my long winded post.

[Q] Help with Samsung S2 (Bell) ... bricked for sure topic

Hi Gurus,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Bell (Canada) i9100M. I may have tried to root the phone unsuccessfully in the past and did not use the phone after that, now when I power the phone up, all I see is a Phone exclamation triangle and a PC.
I am an amateur in this dept and searched this forum, tried Odin but no luck, here what I tried:

I tried Odin3 (v1.85, v3.04 and 3.07) with Stock ROMs or CWM and it always get stuck at write nand start or sbl bin around FactoryFS or SBL1. I tried different USB cables even different PC but no luck, all the videos about unbricking a phone looks easy and smooth but I am stuck.
Can you gurus help me with step by step instructions assuming that phone has nothing on it or how to completely wipe it in case its completely corrupted and reflash it, can my phone be saved?

Please help
Thanks in Advance
Z (Calgary)
