[Q] Wifi Tethering bypass trick with SQ Lite Editor, how do I to get it to work? topic

On this post, MrNa5ty kindly point out that there's an entry in Sq Lite Editor read as "tether_entitlement_check_state", yet I don't see it on my end. I also notice there's a step before everything, which is "need to try and activate the hot spot initially in the user interface settings", to my limited knowledge, I believed I had already done that, yet it still didn't seem to be appearing anywhere on my Sq Lite screen, does anyone has a similar situation like this and get resolved? The picture below is what I think MrNa5ty referring to as "user interface settings". Or maybe not, bc how is a rookie like me know any better, lol.

And I had done this so many times, I lost count, but I never able to see that database entry ""tether_entitlement_check_state" appear, man I wish banging my head to the wall could solve this problem. crying:

Hello, I'm gonna try to keep this as short as possible.

Basically, bought an M8, rooted it, messed with it, all worked great. Went a step further without having a clue at what I was doing (I know, I was stupid as hell and now I'm desperate because of it) and I went ahead and installed a custom ROM. I think this might be a common error, but my Wi-Fi isn't working [tries to enable it but fails every time.] I even drove the phone off to my guy who always fixed this kind of stuff for me, and he told me I'm hopeless. And now my hope lies with this community to help me. I would be speechlessly greatful if someone helped me with this, because having a high end phone and no Wi-Fi on it is a nightmare.

My goal here: To reset the M8 to it's original factory settings, original software version, original bootload, original S-on/S-off settings. Basically just get everything as stock as it can possibly get. The important thing is to get my Wi-Fi running again.

I would really appreciate if someone who has Skype and knows his way around this could talk to me privately, but if not, I'm going to leave as much info about my device as I can [relevant or irrelevant (taken from the About Device Menu)] below;

Phone wont work after update topic

Good afternoon guys,
Im here with a problem..

My phone is a WIko Cink Peax 2 with Jelly bean OS
Yesterday it was released a new official update for this phone and 1 month earlier I had done root.
Its happens that when i clicked to start the update phone was about to reboot but nothing happened. I thought it was dead..

Now every time I turn the phone on it goes to cwm recovery (v6.0.3.7) and down in the screen says “warning: no file_contexts”.

When I click “reboot system now” shows up that phone doesn’t has root “root access is missing. Root device?” I click in “Yes - Root Device (/system/xbin/su)” and phone restarts but everything still the same.

I already done wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition. Still nothing..

I downloaded the super su and put in on my sd card because I read in a website that this could solve the problem. Happens that when I click “choose zip from external sdcard" shows this message "E: Cant mount /external_sd/" with all this I have no more ideia of what I should do.

Other thing that I think its important to mention is that when I connect phone via usb to pc it turns on by it self.

If anyone could help me I appreaceate it ..

[Q] Hybrid Html Apps work worse now than in 4.4 version topic

Hi All, i am interested in knowing if anyone else noticed this.
I am a hybrid app developer, and now after upgrading to the european lollipop latest version, all of the apps i work on, work really sllugish and the animations work slower than before.
I was under the impression that in lollipop you have a better webview engine, and actually these apps should work better. I checked in the android webview version and it says chromium 37, so its better than the one we had in 4.4

So, my question is does anyone else noticed that?
and is there any fix for this?

[Q] Shield controller does not work any more? topic

Hello all,

My shield controller worked great when using KitKat.

I had no need for it for a while - but wanted to use it today. Since I used it last time, I have updated my wifi Shield Tablet to 5.0.1 (rooted). Th Lolipop update included a factory reset - so my original controller pairing was lost.

So I tried to pair it again - but the pairing did not work (the unit and the controller both just blink - but they do not connect). The I tried to select "forget all controllers" in the controller setup - when I click "yes" at the prompt, the controller app seems to be crashing, as I get a message saying that Shield Controller Stopped Working...

I tried everything (factory reset the controller, multiple restarts) but no luck.

The controller does not connect. The fact that the app crashes when I want to forget paired controllers suggests that this is a software issue. But what is the issue? And how do I fix it?

Any ideas would be very welcome...

[Q] Can't get phone to work topic

I have a HTC One XL. When I got it a few years ago, I rooted and installed a new ROM. About 6 months ago I was trying to wipe the phone, and I guess I erased the ROM since it won't boot anymore. It has hboot 1.14, s-on, and supercid 11111111.

I can get into hboot , recovery, and fastboot, but I'm not able to get a ROM to install. The first problem I had was that I kept seeing error messages "E: Unable to mount /sdcard", so I ran XsMagical fixSD, which fixed the problem (maybe).

I've tried a cyanogenmod ROM, but it wants hboot 2.something in order to install. To update hboot from 1.14, I thnk that I need s-off? First I tried to get s-off using rumrunner, but the phone needs to be running a ROM to use it. Then I tried using facepalm s-off and was able to flash the zip file, but the "fastboot oem boot" just gets me to the white HTC screen. I tried rebooting into recovery, shelling in, and trying to run soffbin3, but there is no "su" command so I can't execute it.

I've also tried Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_33.1.zip, first doing "fastboot flash boot boot.img" but when I put it on /storage/sdcard0 and install from clockworkmod (v6.0.4.8) the install process starts copying files then dumps me back to recovery with no explanation or messages.

Then I tried ExTrimmed, when I try to install from sdcard, I get an error "E:error in /storage/sdcard0/Extrimmed_v2.1.0.zip (Status 1)", and I get a similar error when trying to install using sideload. I can unzip the file fine on my computer, and I've tried reuploading it three different times.

What should I do? I'm trying everything, but nothing is working for me. I'm wondering if my partition sizes are off, and there's not enough space to unzip the file?

[Q] Custom Recovery Doesn't Work Anymore topic

Hello,

I've rooted my own note 3 and flashed Temaseks unofficial cm 12 rom. Everything works perfect so I decided to do the same thing for my father. It all went well, first I rooted his phone, then I flashed CWM and flashed cm 12 by temasek. The rom works fine but I forget to install the Gapps. So I tried to install Gapps but I got an error "Failure Status 6". I googled on that error and someone told it has to do something with CWM. I tried to flash a different version of CWM but now I can't reboot into recovery mode anymore. So I can't flash anything.

I flashed another version of CWM but this one also doesn't work. Whenever I try to boot the phone into recovery mode, the blue line shows up. Rebooting into recovery mode, but after a few secs, the phone just boots the normal way. Is there anyone that can help me to get CWM back to work? In the mean time I'll try to flash TWRP by Odin.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Blaze S in Europe, data works but the phone calls won't work topic

My American friend came to Finland with her T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S Blaze. She is not an expert in technical things but she mentioned that the data (messaging with different messaging apps) works with a Finnish SIM card but the phone calls won't work at all.

I took a look at her phone but didn't find anything strange. Any clue where this issue might come from? The phone is with a stock ROM so it's neither rooted nor flashed with a custom ROM.

They work parcially

Nvidia Button: Rather than launching Shield Hub, it makes Shield sleep (but i can shut down and reboot)
Home button doesn't works (No multitask, no Google Now)
Back button: Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't
Pause button: Only for Game Mapper

Luckly, A,B,X,Y, joysticks, d-pad, bumpers and triggers, work perfectly

I tried to do a wipe but when I enter recovery mode, i get a message that says "Any command". Anyway, i did a hard reset by the System configurations (and not be solved)

Someone more it has happened this? How i can solve it?

so I got my M8 like three weeks ago and made the ultimate mistake of not backing up MY factory ROM before flashing stuff. I went ahead and, following a guide from 'teh internets', turned my phone into a Google Play Edition after a successful S-Off with SunShine. About a week later, I started missing some Sense features and tried to revert back to stock which proved difficult at first due to partition size issues. Finally, I was successfully following a mixture of several guides in this very forum, flashing different combinations and versions of stock ROMs, firmwares and recoveries. I'm on Sense again. Last thing I can't get rid of is a message in HTC Tell that's talking about a testing device and how I could not turn off HTC Tell for that reason.

Long story short, I do now have a phone that reads:

Unfortunately, I do not exactly remember which Recovery I flashed last. I'm pretty sure it was one from the Stock Backup & OTA Collection thread. If I go into recovery, I get a red triangle and nothing happens.

Now for my question, I want some features of Lollipop really bad and I know HTC is going to come out with their Lollipop-Sense in about two weeks. I would gladly wait and go for it instead of starting over and turn my phone into a GPE again. Question is, will I get the Sense OTA or is there anything that will keep me from it?

Has anyone managed to find a decent case for the Z3TC which will still allow the device to be conected to the GCM10 for PS4 Remote Play?
I bought a Cruzerlite BugDroid case which is a nice case but the detail on the back prevents the suction from staying airtight. I've asked Sony official via support chat and they said the SCR28 will be the same.

Changed digitizer, LCD doesn't work topic

Hey guys,

I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask, I am desperate and I need your help.
My navigation buttons started to push itself, so I disassembled my phone (gently of course)

I found out that the digitizer flat cable is torn like.. 3/4 of its width so that was probably the problem.
I ordered a new digitizer and it arrived yesterday, so I put everything together, started the phone and the LCD doesn't work.

When I start the phone it vibrates as usually, then the LCD screen turns on for couple of milliseconds so I can just barely see the HTC logo and then it turns black, the navigation buttons are lit and I've heard notifications after I let it run for 30 seconds.

What could be the problem? I checked multiple times if all the flat cables are plugged in correctly. It's weird that the LCD runs for couple of ms and then it turns black.
