Problem with sim card after flashing custom rom topic

After rooting my note 4 with cf auto rootroot, I decided to get a stock lollipop room -liquid smooth.
After flashing the rom everything worked fine, but after a couple of minutes I realized the sim card was not being detected. I still got mobile data, and I could connect to the sprint network. But at the lockscreen at the top left it said "no sim inserted- sprint". I can't toggle mobile data on and off, set a data limit, and in the quick pulldown menu when I tap on the nenetwork icon instead of bringing up my data usage in a small window, it simply takes me to the mobile data settings where all I can do is look at how much data each app is using. The same thing happened when I tried flashing unofficial cm 12. When I went back to the stock touchwiz rom, everything worked fine, and my sim was detected. Even when I got a new sim and flashed liquidsmooth the same problem occurred.

External SD Card permissions topic

Hi All,

I am having issues being able to use files i have stored on my Ext SD Card. The problem started after flashing back to VenomRom from Skydragon Lollipop. I can read and write to the card fine but some (not all) files are no longer readable by the phone or by my windows PC if I copy the file to my desktop. This also effected some back ups I might prior to make the move back to Venom.

Any ideas on what has happened here or how to fix? I'm guessing its a permissions thing?

Hello Guys, i have micromax canvas knight phone which does not have external memory card support. The phone is rooted and i need to flash a rom. For that i need to wipe data/factory reset, as i put the rom zip file in internal memory, rom file would get erased. Since factory reset is mandatory before flashing a new rom through recovery, how can we do that without losing the rom file in internal memory? Please help.

sd card recognized, shows available storage, but no files topic

I just starting have a problem today that I hope someone can help me fix. I was transferring a file from my PC to my phone when I received a "File Cannot be Transferred" notice, and a hanging copy progress screen. So I clicked cancel, safely removed my phone, and unplugged. Now I have nothing showing on my SD, in Storage Settings it displays the card along with an accurate Storage remaining (4.5 GB out of 64 GB), but the file explorer displays no files. I've tried rebooting, unmounting/remounting my card, and still nothing. I went into recovery and can see files and deleted the partially transferred file, when I reboot, the SD card loads, Folder Mount runs and successfully mounts to my SD, I can even go to the file explorer and see files briefly, then within a minute or two.....poof everything disappears. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

[Q] Memory card getting formatted or corrupted every week topic

Hi guys,
I have been using almost all custom roms for redmi 1s. It's quite frustrating that for every week the memory card is getting corrupted or formatted and I see a message that "memory card is not inserted". I try to remove the battery and remove SD card and put it back then the memory shows it's empty. Even it happens for internal storage when I connect to my windows PC. It happened thrice. Soon after I stopped connecting to PC. Please help me in fixing this issue.

So I'm not sure that this is possible but just wanna make sure I'm not missing something somewhere.. Is there any way to get the card on my watch that I received a text message from Hangouts but not show the conversation or the contents of the message? Just simply show a card saying I've received a message and that's all. Thanks!

No SIM card detected topic

Every so often, the message will pop up that no SIM card is detected and that the watch needs to restart? I have checked SIM card placement as well as ensured the door is properly inserted back into the watch. Anyone else having this problem?

[Q] Wi-Fi Disconnecting and SIM card resetting topic

Just starting running Santod's GPE of Lollipop and everything is working fine except for two things.

FIRST: My phone doesn't retain any Wi-Fi info. If I turn it off or reset it then it'll erase any wifi info that was on it. Any. Every single one.

I've seen someone solve a similar problem by turning off the Backup option in settings and that hasn't done anything for me. Not sure what's happening here.

Second: Every day or two I'll get a window telling me that my SIM card has been newly inserted and that I have to restart the phone. This happens all the time. It's fine after it resets but sometime it has to reset more than once which is a nuisance.

Thanks for any input on this. Love learning about the phone's inner workings slowly in a casual setting such as this. Not being a programmer it's a little difficult at first but it's fun!

[Q] Fastnote cannot write on SD card & ColorNote stopped backing up also on SD card topic

I'm using Sony Xperia Z3 and has been playing with note-taking apps Fastnote and Colornote.

Before, ColorNote writes its local backup to both internal and SD card memory (as you can also see on the backup settings it has both icons). But suddenly it stopped backing up on SD card, though it still backs up on internal memery.

Also this happened after I tried changing Fastnote's storage destination from internal to SD card, which while it has been successfully changed, it cannot write note to that new destination (SD card), but it does well on the internal memory.

What do you think guys? Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Hello. Was in a hurry and attempted to pull out the Sim card (nano with an adapter) in my xt1064 and ended up removing it, but the phone no longer recognizes any SIM cards. I contacted a local repair and was told the SIM tray is soldered to main board. I did see this video which shows the dual-sim variant as removable (see at 4;45-5:00 min (http://youtu.be/l29IvoYolh8) SIM cards go inside (but not as before), but do pish in and eject OK. I read online re: trying to align pins in the tray, but didn't see a good tutorial. I did open the phone and the tray is not easily openable (see a spring on the side). So how would I go about trying to get this repaired? Looked at etradesuppky and just saw few major parts (screen, housing, battery), unlike a lot more small components avail for xt1032. Any ideas/suggestions? This had to happen right after I flashed an updated lollipop 5.0.1 with success after few weeks of waiting. Thanks for any input.

No Sim Card - Emergency Calls Only Error on Verizon topic

Mostly just browse these forums, and as you can see, don't post often.

Since about 2 weeks after I got my Nexus 6 directly from Motorola, I've been having intermittent issues with my sim card. It varies wildly in time frame. Longest I've gone without the message popping up, and losing connectivity is about a week and a half. I shut the device down, restart, and it's back. Sometimes it happens as frequently as within the same 5 minutes. As you can guess, I'm highly irritated.

First, I called Verizon and they were nice enough to send out a new nano sim. Popped it in an adapter, activated in Galaxy S3, and into the Nexus. Didn't solve anything, but at least I can rule out a faulty sim card.

Second, called Motorola to ask for a replacement. 5 business days later I call to ask where my phone is and I'm told that they don't have any "like-new" stock and that they don't know when they will. I ask for a refund to buy another phone and they say it will be 4-6 weeks.

Can someone smarter than I tell me if this is for sure a hardware issue? I'm guessing it is, and that it's specific to my device since I literally can't find anything on the web/forums about others having this issue with the N6.

hi, I failed to install CM12, then deleted the zip from TWRP file manager
I need to push working CM zips to SD.

phone is connected via USB

Mount / sdcard is checked
MTP is enabled
Mount USB storage / Internal storage fails to recognize new HW

Advanced / ADB Sideload / Start doesn't work (adb sideload rom.zip reports no device found)

What's wrong?

No SIM - Insert SIM card - Sprint Note 4 topic

I'm getting the No Sim error and it asks me to restart or cancel. If I cancel everything works fine. I can send and receive calls and send and receive texts just fine. Whenever I send a text message (through Hangouts) it will say Insert Sim to send text but then the text sends like normal. The notification will go away on a restart but come back shortly thereafter. The notification is annoying so I want to get this fixed. I"m on a Sprint Note 4 which I didn't even think used a Sim card but I'm not really sure. Anybody know what I should do to fix this? Thanks.

I did just open the back and saw that I guess even Sprint does have a Sim card. I took it out and put it back in (maybe it was a little loose). We'll see if that fixes it. I'll report back if it doesn't.

[Q] Gallery not recongnizing/showing images from internal SD card topic

When I try and change my wallpaper I can't seem to find any of the images on my*SD*card*to pick from. The gallery does however show images that are stored on my*externalmicroSD*card. I can explore the internal*SD*card*with a file manager I downloaded (I think it's called File Manager 1.1.4) and copy the images from my internal to a folder on the external. If I can explore the internal, why can't I see the pics in the gallery?*

Is there a way to tell the gallery app to search all folders or something? A refresh button? The gallery app is stock CM11 mod.*

I just noticed the same thing is happening with videos. When I open up the stock video app it shows "no videos", which is certianly not the*case*as I have a bunch transferred to the internal*sd card*and a couple that I've taken with the camera.

Any ideas outside of completely reformatting/re-flashing?

Permissions Messed Up On & Can't Extract Folders On SD Card topic

Been having some issues with trying to extract zips from sd card or change permissions on files on my sd card. It tells me I don't have permissions and I even tried moving a file from my phone to my SD card and got a error message. I'm using the B1 Archiver. I was trying to set something up before and tried changing the permissions on a file on my sd card and I got the same error. I just tried formatting my sd card but that didn't help.

I'm on 4.4.2 rooted with towelroot.

I have an Xperia C. I wanted to do a backup using CWM, but i got "error while making a backup image of /data". So i searched online for some help some fellow said "wipe dalvik-cache, do a "fix permissions" and then retry the backup.".
I tried that and then when i tried to do a backup it said error 0 bytes available or smoehting like that. I switched on the phone to check in the storage and same thing 0 bytes available. I even tried to connect it to pc but same thing, and when i try to open albums it says memory unmounted or unavilable.
