I know its sounds absurd I'm trying to port the S5 camera to my aosp rom and since its a kitkat app I thought it would give me a parse error on jellybean 4.2 but it did not,Now my question is does anyone know exactly how to port the samsung framework or the libs needed to port the app please help I have downloaded the s5 framework gonna deodex soon I searched the forum but there is only one guide on how to port OEm apps

[Q] [HELP] Porting features of one rom to another topic

Hello Guys!

I have a Galaxy S4 (jflteatt). I want to port certain elements of other roms to a GPe rom for my device (this rom is AOSP).

The elements I wanna port:

• CarbonRom Privacy Manager


• Cyanogenmod Theme Engine


• ParanoidAndroid card recents


• ParanoidAndroid Peek


• ParanoidAndroid Dynamic System Bars

All the roms are compatible with my device. I want to port these over because of the locked bootloader -- I cant install custom roms with safestrap but i can install a modded GPe one.

Now you need to add a manifest file for the new device. Refer to one of the existing manifests for a template. You can use the hamachi manifest a reference. Once done, you should add and commit your new manifest to your local b2g-manifest repository:
hamchi manifest -> https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/b2g-m...er/hamachi.xml

im not exactly sure what needs to be changed and what needs to be put in the areas that i do change the only other device ive did anything relative to this is ZTE Open C i also have a manifest for it several actually so im entirely ignorant but i am at a point of being dumbfounded on how to change this up so it can ./config.sh correctly

so my question is ... will someone help me create a proper manifest from the refrence manifest/point me to a manifest thats already created ive looked on google and havent found one so im asking you guys

New KitKat S Note app on Galaxy Apps store for Note 8 (No porting needed!) topic

This guy was posted back on Dec 19, 2014, but I just noticed it in my install list today. If you're running stock 4.4.2 on your Note 8, you can install a new version of S Note (it's not an upgrade to the stock S Note that comes preloaded, however; it's a completely new app) that's compatible with the newer S Note version on the Note 3 or the 2014 Note 10.1. No porting necessary!

[Q] Rom porting for Maguro ??? topic

Hello Friends and Developers
I have a Galaxy Nexus Maguro.
Instead of building a rom from source for maguro for eg building lollipop from CM sources, porting can also be done.....
So we can search similar devices for maguro and take their bug free roms and port it to our device so our device could also be bug free. It is logical that instead of building we port the rom and give credits from which device we took and to the person who ported the rom successfully without any bugs

The main bug in the camera and offline charging. So for that we can do porting isn't it ??

So can we do rom porting for maguro ???

URGENT!
Found a man on the xda ready to help porting CyanogenMod 12 on our apparatus (g800h);
(he ported it to s3 Neo (this appart has exactly the same characteristics as our: Snapdragon 400, Adreno 305, 1.5Gb RAM, 16Gb built, the resolution is the same);

He is already trying to collect firmware, but he needs someone who knows English and can communicate with him, as well as understand what firmware, android and rom

So I have a DVD headunit which I purchased last year it has better specs than those of Windows CEs but still was wondering what is the minimum required hardware to run Android Auto or to port it?

[XOLO A500s IPS] CM11 Porting help needed. topic

I am trying to port CM11 on my Xolo A500s IPS (Stock 4.2 JB) mobile phone. I already finished these steps.
1) repo sync for cm11 (4.4.4)
2) created boot.img & recovery.img using dd command on my phone.
3) created device XOLO_A500s using mkvendor.sh script.
4) did changes in recovery.fstab
5) created update.zip file using lunch & brunch command.

Now I wanted to know how to test this ROM. I am worried for recovery & boot partition. Specially recovery portion as its size is bigger than stock one.
