[Q] Sony Xperia Z display problems after replacement topic
Hello everyone
It's been a while since I have had a problem with a device that I repair but unfortunately it has happened again today.
Today at 5 pm a friend of mine came by with his xperia z to replace the screen. I first run through the tutorial and see whether I came across something I do not know. Then I just started the repair and took my time to complete it. I finished at 19:30 pm. I also installed a new parts I've replaced the display and the on / off volume flex cable. After having successfully placed everything the most exciting moment of the evening followed, turning on the device. The 1st time I turned on the phone it worked so well. I did some tests and turned the phone a few times on and off to see if that would not cause any problems. But after 4 times the phone only showed the backlight. I have been through all the connections and also did an disassembly again to see if there might be a flex cable that is not properly connected but I could not find anything.
Now my question to you is fellow members, would anyone here help me or has anyone here had previously experienced.

Hi, I bought locked IMEI Z2 off ebay without knowing it. short story, I got my money back but there one thing that surprise me.
the my IMEI is from other phone LG L5 to be precise and I'm pretty sure it's a Legit Z2 as well, not some chinese made knock off. I also checked my other phone that I got from new (S4, and HD2) they all got the right model.
What I want to know is, is it possible to change the IMEI number? ASFAIK you can't change xperia IMEI number because it's stored somewhere in the partition. and you can't change it because it is security signed and if you change it, would make your device completely useless or hardbricked, unlike softbricked device that you can easily fix.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z1 custom bootanimation not working, black screen topic
Hello. I have Sony Xperia Z1, Android 4.4.4, build number 14.4.A.0.157, unlocked bootloader, dual recovery, stock ROM with 4k video and timeshift video mod and I made my own bootanimation in Adobe Photoshop CC. What I have done:
Animation created in resolution 1920*1080, as Z1´s display resolution.
Animation created in JPEG image sequention (JPEG settings - tried quality 8, 9, 12 with optimalized and standard compressing)
Animation has two parts, first part contains 153 pictures (called part0), I tried making only 99 pics too, second part (called part1) contains one picture that stays until phone succesfully boots. I tried resizing the image to 1280*720 like i found that resolution in Jarvis custom animation and still nothing chnanged.
Animation zipped with WinRAR.
Animation called bootanimation.zip (I have NOT made that mistake with bootanimation.zip.zip)
Animation has 7.67MB zipped, unzipped 11.4MB.
As I read yesterday someone told me I have to make desc.txt file in Notepad++, make it ANSI coded and convert it to UNIX format and make there last blank line. Done
Permissions I tried to set was -rwxrwxrwx and -rw-r--r--

The problem is when I power on the phone it shows me Sony logo, then it vibrates two times (as normally does) and then shows black screen. And then It asks me for PIN etc. and phone is succesfully booted. But why that black screen? I set (I hope) everything good, what I did not tried is change the resolution of all pics to smaller (HD or etc) because original bootanimation is 960x540 and that working Jarvis is 1280*720 (and shows smaller so it looks pretty weird and also with bad framerate so it looks laggy) and i do not tried changing image from JPEG to PNG but original bootanimation is in JPEG as mine so I dont think it will help. Thank you all for your help guys!!! And of course If you liek that and you will solve my problem I can do the same bootanimation for you with your own text but it must have 6 letters as mine :D

I'm currently using a custom firmware on my 6806 and thinking about going back to stock and playing with some of the newer ported over z3 stuff, but all i can find is the original locked firmware, nothing prerooted or deodexed. I will get a xperia l from my bro tomorrow and want to Root and Flash CM12 lollipop then
But before that i got some questions about the bootloader, because i rooted and flashed just for one time a Samsung Galaxy ace 3.
1. have i to Root the phone before unlocking bootloader or after that? (Wanna use RootGenius)
2. do i need a new recovery like Cwm or can i flash the new Rom zip with the unlocked bootloader?
3. if unlocking dont work: someone got a link for flashing cwm using odin?

The most interesting Bluetooth headset - Sony MDRZX750BNB topic
Sony MDRZX750BNB is a recent model of Bluetooth headphones which also provide noise cancelling and some other very interesting features.
The noise-cancelling part is working OK, it is still debatable if that is as effective as the top of the line Bose noise-cancelling headphones (which are not wireless) but in car and plane the noise cancelling is quite effective.
The wireless connection is actually made of two different connections (which can even go to two different sources) - one for "call audio" and the other for "media audio". If the "media audio" is not by default in the high-quality aptX/AAC mode you can force that (check if the blue LED blinks in groups of 3).
Sound is IMHO good towards very good and the buttons are well-placed (for a right-handed) and provide all the functions you need most often (play/pause, answer/reject, skip fwd/back, you reject a phone call with a long-press on the pause/answer button).
Battery life is OK (you can extend that by disabling noise cancelling when not needed and I believe you can also use it wired when completely discharged). NFC is also very handy.
The manual is kind of basic from the technical point of view but there is a good guide online from Sony:

I found a Japanese Sony app to lock the screen again...... we can create shortcut on screen and just tab it to lock the screen.
i modded this app in English language and here it is......

[Q] New to the ZU and Sony in general I need some help please! topic
So I'm no stranger to this but I've mainly used devices on Verizon and all of which were always fully unlockable and s-off etc etc, mainly I've used HTC devices, the Samsung devices I've used were blessed by Adam Outler, so my point is anything as far as flashing ROMs goes was just fastbooting a recovery did the trick and flashed a ROM and done. When I added a gsm device to the line up I got the Nexus 5 than got the Oneplus One, than picked one of these up for fun because love love live gigantic big F U screens haha.. So the Nexus and Oneplus were the same deal. The Z Ultra is the US LTE gsm unlocked c6806 variant stock not the GPE. So my buddy told me to dial a number via my dialer and see if its bootloader unlockable and it was so I followed Sony's bootloader unlock method and it was successful!!! Woohoo!!! But... This is where I ran in to some snags. Me being me I jumped right in to fastboot and I fastbooted Team Win Recovery the latest one 2.8.3.0 and it was successful as far as the terminal output goes, but when I tried to boot to recovery I noticed I lost my violet LED and all methods to boot to recovery failed.. I thought being unlocked fastbooting a recovery would be no problem but in my case it wasn't.. It took a day of messing around when I finally ran the ZU dual recovery with TWRP and Philz and that worked. I don't know why but it did and now I'm able to boot to both recoveries.. So I rooted with the latest SuperSU and boom I have root no problems! So now my next confusion is flashing ROMs.. I made a nandroid backup and tested it to make sure it did restore and everything was good and it was. So I went ahead and flashed the CM12 fxp build from December 31st on December 31st and flashed a Gapps package and after a few minutes and it booted up no problem. I DID NOT fastboot the boot.img from the zip first I just flashed the ROM flashed the Gapps and it works with no problem, the kernel is indeed the Cyangon kernel built on Dec 31st root@ubuntu blah blah... That's the ROM I've been on since than and have no problems and I haven't updated yet because there has been so significant changes since than so I found no need to. Why do every ROM threads state to fastboot the boot.img from the zip first than flash the ROM and Gapps? Is this for locked bootloaders only? Am I missing something? So yeah to sum it up basically, if I'm bootloader unlocked #1 how come I can't just fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.8.3.0.img and why doesn't that work? #2 How come when I came from stock 4.4.4 Sony firmware and flashed the ROM and Gapps without fastbooting the boot.img and that worked no problem? I'm trying to understand how Sony devices work so I don't run in to any issues. Sony works slightly different than what I'm use to. Oh also every time I looked for this flashtool people talk about the links are all bad... Please if someone can thoroughly enlighten me I would sincerely appreciate it. Sony Mobile today surprisely release official Android 4.4.4 KitKat for Sony XPERIA T3. Support for this phone was very poor to this time, but now we get new Android. Dont expect new functions (i dont see any news), but phone is fast and stable (which wasnt my phone with previous firmware version). I've tried to connect my w995 with a2uploader for use the filesytem explorer and try to extract the themes, I see them but I can't extract them with this program.
Maybe it's possible to extract the firmware (if the flash menu are into it) and after that, extract the themes from the firmware ?

Howzit going guys.Im in the process of UPDATING my old Sony Xperia mini X10 (served me well for 5 years) to a newer Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini ST15i
My question is, Do I just plug it in to my Sony companion and it will upgrade by itself or do I have to do some rooting and stuff?
According to Sony Ericsson XPERIA Mini ST15i specs it is running on 2.3(Gingerbread) right now but upgradeable to 4.0 ( I beleive Ice cream sandwich)
My main purpose is to maybe speed it up a bit plus theres so many apps that requires Android 3.0 and above so just staying with 2.3 my apps are limited
Any help is greatly appreciated
