I know officially mhl is not supported on galaxy alpha

For curiosity's sake and confirmation - will someone please plug in an mhl cable and test if there's any hdmi video signal to the monitor?

Galaxy Alpha vs. A5 longtime support from dev´s topic

Hi there,

i am about to buy a new phone sooner or later.
My old SGS III (I9300) is still running quite fine (thx to the dev´s in here), but after 2,5 years i looks kinda awfull by now because of the bad build quality (cheap plastic crap) of the body.
So the next should have better build quality = metal frame if pos.

So i figured out 2-3 possible phones:
Samsung Galaxy Alpha or Samsung Galaxy A5 (wont be released in the US/Canada as far as i know)

As an alternative:
Phicomm Passion

The most important point for me is the longtime community support from CM,Omni, etc. This tbh is the only reason i still use and can use my quite old S3. And i can´t even tell you how much i hate Touchwiz and crap UI´s like this.
Might it be easier to get a good working CM for the A5 because it will have a Snapdragon 400 or 410. I often read about Samsungs Exynos making it hard to develop for.

So do you got any thoughts what device will have the better community support? Yeah crappy question i know, just wanna hear your thoughts ;)

So this ROM has been released recently by OnePlus. My question is, is this for everyone? Can we flash it on our Moto G? I think it is only for OnePlus One mobiles but i am not sure.
I can't find any website mentioning it is specific for OnePlus One.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha SM-G850A (AT&T) topic

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know of a root for the AT&T Alpha? I saw CF-auto-root has one for the unlocked version (SM-G850F), however, I know that is an entirely different phone, so I'm not even going to attempt it. Any help would be much appreciated!

[ALPHA] Cyanide-L for d2tmo (5.0.2 Lollipop) topic

So I have successfully gotten Cyanide working on the T999.

A few notes before install.

Thanks to rogersb11 for the Cyanide ROM, TheGeekyNimrod for the d2att port, without which I could not have done this, and leonid002, because without his assistance, I would not have even known how to do this to begin with.

First let's discuss the bugs:
The AOSP Keyboard will continuously crash on you from the first boot. Make sure you have ES File Explorer and a Google keyboard APK at the ready. Install Google keyboard, then disable your AOSP keyboard. One this is done your keyboard will work just fine.

The phone will self report as the i747, that is where this ROM came from. As soon as I find what I need to change to fix that, I will update.

I believe the camera bug is still here, havent tested it yet, so just download Nexus camera from the Play store.

Other than that, works great so far.

Anyway, now it is time for the... Wait for it...

You should be able to use any current Lollipop gapps with this ROM.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Download ROM below
Install a recovery if you don't have one (I use TWRP Multiboot, found in this same forum)
Factory reset (wipe Dalvik, cache, you know the drill)
Install the ROM (link below)
Install Gapps
Reboot into Cyanide
Install Google keyboard (or maybe your favorite alternative, SwiftKey works, not sure about anything else yet)
Disable AOSP Keyboard
Enjoy.
