Is anyone else having an issue with Smart Lock? I've been attempting to use the location feature, and, for the life of me, I cannot get it to work.
I've tried it on stock, custom ROMs, you name it. I wanted to see if anyone else was having similar issues?

8.4 Pro and Smart Scroll topic
When I bought my 8.4 Pro I was quite dissapointed that the device does not have Smart Scroll available. However, today I found app called "Note 4 hidden features" which also works on my 8.4 and enables that and other hidden features :) just wanted to share this in case someone is unaware the same I was till today :)

[Q] Smart stay not working topic
Anyone else having trouble with smart stay? Mine is useless. Came from a note 2 which it worked very well on. Eye lights on notification panel then screen dims and goes off.Can't get screen to remain on, phone in light, face in light, phone in shade, face in light. Even stood under light, no go. Any ideas?? Can anyone confirm that the stock lollipop rom has all the smart features (e.g. smart scroll) available? I installed Polish and German version and neither of them has those features. However, someone on Google plus sent me a screenshot from his Polish rom with smart features available in his menu. Am I missing something?

INTRO
Hey everyone!
Some of you, like me, loved to use the smart stay feature of Samsung, they disables the dimming of the screen while you are looking at it.
Unfortunately, on the latest builds (CM11 like CM12), this app is broken. What happens is that, when an app is using the camera and another tries to access it, there is a conflict. For example, you are using the camera. If smart stay + tries to see if you are still there, it tries to access the camera which is already in use. And so, the camera app doesn't know what to do and crashes ^^
A way to repair this is to modify directly the app to pause the search when the camera is already in use, but we can't do that, the only one who can is the app dev ^^ Another way is to refuse access to the camera when using the camera app, but not sure how we can do that... The way I did is bypassing this error by killing smart stay + when I use a specific app like the camera ;)
Apps
To do this, you need to install :
Lets Start!
So, start by installing as those apps, and install the latest version of Smart Stay + (if you are on CM12, you can't download it from Play Store cause it's incompatible, so you need to use the apk from the Internet). Don't launch Smart Stay +, and don't enable its setting in the accessibility menu on the phone!
First off, we need to give root rights to Secure Settings. Launch the app, then go to the System+ tab and enable it. It will then ask for root rights, accept and we are good to go on.
Kill Switch
Now, launch Tasker and go on the profile tab (if you want to follow everything in english in the app, press the 3 dots in the upper right corner, then Preferences, go all the way down in the UI tab, then change the language). Create a new context using the + icon on the bottom of the app, then chose Application. A list of all your apps will be shown, so you need to chose which app will kill the other one. Here, I want the Camera app to be the "killer", so I chose the apps using the camera (I have Camera Next as well as the stock camera, so I chose both) :
To go back, do not press the X button on the upper right corner! It will erase your config ;) Press the button on the upper left corner to go back to the profiles. The app will show you then a menu where you can enter a new task. Chose New Task and name it "Kill". A new screen will be shown :
Click +, then go into Plugin, and you will see all the plugins. Click on TaskKill, then press on the Pen logo on the upper right corner to config the plugin. Here, you can choose the method to use to kill, and the app. You need to use the Extrem method, or else Smart Stay will keep rebooting... Choose Smart Stay in the list, then click apply. Set the Timeout to 0, then save it by clicking on the upper left corner, and return to the profiles list.
Here is what we should see :
Starting the App
We now need to start smart stay after we finished using the camera, and it's a bit tricky. You can either start the app using Tasker, but it will ask for you to enable the accessibility option of Smart Stay (happens every time), and that is really a bummer... That made me look if we can't directly turn on that setting from Tasker, so that we don't need to open the settings, close the app, etc... And it is! We can change that settings from Tasker using a plugin! Buuuut, the catch is that we need root...
Soooo to enable this setting, you need to long press on the action we just did named "Kill", and add an Exist Task. Next, do a new task named "Start". After, choose the plugin Secure Settings, then press on the Pen logo on the upper right corner to config the plugin. Here, you can choose which action you want. Go to System+ Actions, then press Accessibility Services. A new menu will appear, where you can see the different apps that has an Accessibility Setting. Choose Smartstay+, and make sure the button underneath it is Disabled (so that it disables that setting). Save it, then go back to the profiles list using the button on the upper left corner.
Here is what you should see :
Testing
Tada! Done! You can now launch the camera app without having it bug! To test it out, you can go on each action, like "kill" and press the play button on bottom of the screen. You will see that the notification is closed. Go into the "start" action and press play, you will that icon return! Go try it out using the camera app!
Misc / Other Method
You may ask why I didn't use the Secure Settings in the first place, and the reason is that it doesn't work well. The app isn't totally killed, it's just paused, so we don't know if it still has access to the camera, or if it is draining battery... Using TaskKill ensure us that it isn't running in the background, and so not draining any battery.
For Android L users, you may know that with Smart Lock, you can unlock the phone with your face. To do so, Android uses the stock camera app. This means that you won't have any bugs at all using that unlocking method with Smart Stay, thanks to our bypass :D
Another method that was pointed out by triviums (1+1 forums) is to use Smart Stay EX Pro. It has an option to disable scanning when certain apps are launched. But, after testing this out, it doesn't work as well as my method. There is a missing option in that app which is Smart Timeout. Without this feature, it still scans if the user is there, even though he is typing something or scrolling a page. Smart Stay + has this feature for free :D)
If this could be implemented (cause on the photos on Google Play, the feature is there for PRO users, but after installing you don't see it...), then it may be better (no need to kill and restart app, which takes some battery). If this doesn't work, then the battery you gain from not killing the app is lost in the use of the camera when it isn't necessary...

How to root a vodafone smart mini 4 topic
I have a vodafone smart mini 4 and have been trying to root it but with no success!!
I have googled how to root a vodafone smart mini 4 but had no luck. All the posts i tried did not work. Most of them say to use Framaroot,but none of the exploits work. I have no PC so has to be done with my vodafone smart mini 4, which is running on Jelly Bean 4.2.2. I did try and root another vodafone smart mini 4 (before it broke) and used a Chinese app and that didn't work.
If anyone has managed to root this phone please could you let me know how you did it,remember tmhat I have no access to a PC. Or if anyone has any ideas on how to root this phone or knows how to, please could you let me know

Smart unlock topic
I was wondering if there was another way to use the smart unlock feature used in lollipop on kit kat... I tried the app smart unlock and for whatever reason it does not seem to work on my G3 and it also does not work with low level Bluetooth... I want to use my moto 360 as a trusted device...

Tetded case's smart cover feature does not work with Z3TC topic
So.. I got my new case from Tetded.
Upon my first try, I noticed that the screen didn't turn off when the flap is close.
Instead, the screen was closed when I open the flap all the way back.
and open again when I removed the flap from the back.
Also, you seems to be able to pry the leather open at the edge.
I believe this is due to the magnet position in the case. Not sure if it's because it was incorrectly positioned or they weren't designed for the smart cover function at all.
Anyway, I contact them and they issued me a refund via Paypal and another apologize email. They didn't explain anything though so I'm not sure if this happen on all units.

Hi all,
I'm using Amazon Fire TV in the UK. With Smart DNS, I can access the USA version of Netflix, which has a much wider choice of content. However, by doing that, my Amazon Prime account does not work any more, as Amazon does not allow you to switch regions with the same account like Netflix.
I'm wondering if there's a way to apply Smart DNS settings to certain apps only, so that I can use the USA version of Netflix, while keeping the rest of my Amazon Fire TV in the UK region?

[Q] Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo topic
I have a Vodafone Smart 4 Turbo as much as i know this is made by yulong I managed to root this phone when it was 4.4.2 but then vodafone released an update that wouldn't install so i unrooted and still couldn't install the update now the update probably wouldn't install because i'd removed some apps so i thought right i'll reroot and put the apps back but the phone wouldn't reroot again now i'd tried the art runtime (the art runtime is fast but it takes up more internal and some apps stop working but it does run a lot quicker) so possibly it might have been this so anyway i then searched the internet and found the yulong site where i got hold of the coolpad 8865u rom which this phone is suppose to be, to reset the phone back to stock. I'd got hold of the YGDP flashing software and reflashed the phone but it then wouldn't start so I found that you needed to connect to adb and reboot in to recovery through the pc and the phone then booted up but the fone now while running glitches/stutters periodically during normal operation and during games plus the processor doesn't clock down to 300mhz anymore just 787mhz I'm thinking is this the right rom if not then what is? it has all the right branding or is this just a bad update? I did actually install the official vodafone update over the top of this rom so that probably points to the rom being offical. I've been searching for the original 4.4.2 stock rom but as yet havn't been able to locate it. I have found a coolpad 3601u rom that i vaguely remember had the same baseband/build number but have yet to properly identify this rom or find anything that will flash the phone with it. the difference between the 8865u and the 3601u roms is the 8865u is a snapdragon 400 with adreno 305 and the 3601u is a snapdragon 410 with adreno 306 both are suppose to be smart 4 turbo's but i'm not so sure about this as info is sketchy due to the yulong site being in chinese and the browser translator only translates some of the text so if anybody has any other info on this it would be helpful. I have also rooted this rom but haven't looked into custom recoveries yet. The main annoyance is the glitchy/stuttering if anybody knows what to do about this that would cool

This is a simple App that emulates the click of Power Button.
Handy when u want to reduce wear and tear of the physical button or if the button is not working.
Currently the following method of Trigger are available:
- Using the Swipe Up Assist action which usually opens the Google Now App
Following are planned to be added:
- Shortcut
- Widget
- Tasker Extension
Advantage over other similar apps in Market:
The usual 'Screen Off' 'Screen Lock' Apps that are available to turn the display off and lock using a widget actually put the device to sleep immediately. As the title says; I can't get my Zgpax S28 smart watch working I have downloaded the Apk BTnotifier but it still says on the watch to install the app on the phone. Is this just a thing with Android L doing this or the Nexus 6 itself?

I was so giddy when I finally got to test it out when I tried CM12 build, though it didn't function as well the way I saw it perform on my friend's nexus 7. I was so excited to try this out when lollipop was leaked both to the Note 3. I was utterly disappointed though that it was missing. I've tried beckoning the few developers who have cooked up ROMS from the leaked lollipop.
So I guess this is me beckoning everyone else who have the means to try and figure out if Samsung simply buried the feature or not and if it is possible to bring it out.

The users of Vodafone Smart Tab 4g can now update their handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop using custom ROM. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop comes with many new features :

- It has a faster, smoother and more powerful computing experience.
- Support for 64-bit SoCs using ARM, x86, and MIPS-based cores.
- OpenGL ES 3.1 and Android extension pack brings Android to the forefront of mobile graphics putting it on par with desktop and console class performance.
- Responsive, natural motion, realistic lighting and shadows, and familiar visual elements make it easier to navigate your device.
- More intelligent ranking of notifications based on who they’re from and the type of communication. See all your notifications in one place by tapping the top of the screen.

1. Download Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM for Vodafone Smart Tab 4g from link below :
The ROM File size is big, so I split the file into 3 parts :
ROM Part 1 : http://goo.gl/7pyL97
ROM Part 2 : http://goo.gl/ffHU2x
ROM Part 3 : http://goo.gl/l1zKh5
To combine 3 parts files above into 1 file just use WINRAR, then extract the files into ZIP format. If any problem with the ROM, maybe because the ROM have corrupted during the download process, you can try to re-download the ROM.
2. Install the ROM Manager on your Vodafone Smart Tab 4g . Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).
3. Connect your Vodafone Smart Tab 4g to your PC employing the USB information cable. Copy the “ROM.zip” file you downloaded to the SD memory card.
4. Restart your device in the recovery mode using ROM Manager. As soon as in Recovery Mode, go to ROM Manager and select backup/restore to back-up your information.
5. From the Recovery Menu do a total data erase (including Delvik Cache). When completed, go back to Recovery Principal Menu and choose Flash ROM from SD Card. Navigate the location you copied the ”ROM.zip” file and follow the directions for installing Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Vodafone Smart Tab 4g . As soon as the installation is over, just reboot your Vodafone Smart Tab 4g device, and here you go, you’ve just upgraded it to the new Android 5.0 Lollipop.

the phones specifications state it supports Bluetooth 4.0.
Does the hardware also support Bluetooth LE?
I understand I'd have to use an Android 4.3 ROM or higher. Will Bluetooth LE work with every 4.3, 4.4 or even 5.0 ROM?

Smart View 1.0 wont work topic
I just purchased the pro 12.2
I have been previously using the note 10.1 2014 edition, I used the Samsung Smart View 1.0 app a lot to watch tv but for some reason the play store says this app is not compatible with the pro 12.2
Really doesnt make sense since the two tablets have the same internals (cpu,os, memory, etc)
I found an apk for the smart view 1.0 the remote portion of the app works fine but when I tap on the dual view to watch tv it force closes and says the app stopped working. I had no issues using the dual view with my Samsung Smart tv.
Anyone know what changed and is there a way to fix it?
