One oroblem fixed and a new one arrises

I have downgraded back to kitkat 4.4.2 v10a from lollipop and i am very pleased so far on all levels but i have now found a new issue which is i am unable to edit my APN setting in anyway, yes i can add a new apn boxbut would rather be able to edit existing fields so can anyone shed some light as to why this might be happening

Also i woold very much like to delete McAfee from my device but my g3 is not rooted and i have downloaded titanium backup. Root explorer. And app master but these wont do it as stated not rooted
Any ideas how i can delete this app from my device please

[Q] Unable to turn off New Galaxy S4 topic

Hello All,

I just got my new Galaxy S4 and everything seems to be working well except the turning off. Whenever I try to put it off, the dialog box comes and I choose the Power Off option. The phone will go off and then reboot as if I chose the restart option.

I restored to factory default and it did not solve the option.

Have you ever met this issue? Is it a hardware or software issue? What can I do to solve this please?

Just received a factory reset refurbished t-mobile D801 running what appears to be stock 4.4.2! Tried to enter download mode to start the process of rooting by turning off the phone, holding Vol Up and plugging the phone into USB. The phone merely comes up with the LG logo, followed by the charge battery icon.

What am I missing here?

Woke up this morning to my phone constantly restarting with the error "com.htc.htcdialer not responding"
I tried going into recovery and wiping cache but that did not work.

I figured all hope was lost and tried to factory reset the phone but after doing so i go to unlock the screen and all i see is the HTC Logo.
I'm unable to get into my phone.
I was not presented with the HTC Welcome video etc etc.

I've never rooted, custom ROMed or used any unlocked bootloaders. This stuff is pretty foreign to me.


Can someone please help me fix this?

Unable to change MAC Address in rooted Moto G with Kit Kat 4.4.4 topic

Hi guys,

trying to spoof my Moto G's MAC for Ethical Hacking purposes, I haven't been able to find a way.

I've tried with some of the different apps in the market, as MAC Spoofer, Mac Address Ghost, ChameleMAC and zANTI. With none of them could do it.

Neither using a terminal plus busybox.

Using the terminal I found out that isn't possible to modify the MAC when the Wi-Fi is off, as this is the way it's done in some Linux distributions (busybox ifconfig wlan0 down + busybox ifconfig wlan0 hw eth XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX)

I've also found information in Inet about problems with some devices spoofing MAC with Kit Kat.

I tried to unlock my bootloader via flash tool, but for some reason, my rooting status (my bootloader) is unknown (before was unlockable). I relocked and unlocked it again but still no luck. I flashed the latest firmware with flashtool.. but my bootloader's status is still unknown. The device is rooted and verified. What i must to do to have back bootloader to unlockable?

Hi, i've Paranoid Android on my gnex and I don't know why but it restarts continuously. Than I decided to do a factory reset from recovery (latest cwm) but when I reboot from recovery after a "successfully" wipe, my data are there!
I tried to do a nandroid backup but it fails, "unable to read data!". What Should I do?

Amazon Fire TV + Kodi - Unable to connect to remote server topic

I am trying to scrape my library and I keep getting an error: "Unable to connect to remove server".

I have googled this and saw it says to disable IPv6 in advancedsettings.html but I don't know where that file is or how to get to it on the amazon fire tv box from my windows 7 workstation. If you know how to do this or fix it another way please let me know!

Power button Not working + unable to unlock using Double Tap to Wake up. topic

The power button on my device does not unlock my phone (it is working well otherwise) also If I try to unlock using double tap to wake up, it does not happen. Here is what I did before this problem started:
I had stock CM11s (bootloader unlocked + rooted+TWRP), I backed up the ROM using TWRP. Then, I wanted to try out a few ROMs and hence I flashed MIUI Patchrom, then after using it for a few hours I flashed ColorOS by relic242, I used it for a day and then I flashed LiquidSmooth Lollipop current build. Then in the end I restored my CM11s using the TWRP restore. My oneplus logo is now red, please help me undo this. Also, I am having the unlocking problem which I described above.

Update: If I turn "prevent accidental wake up" off, the power button and double tap works, but if I turn it on these doesn't. Still buggy !

Unable to tether on lollipop topic

Hi all,

I have been unable to tether since upgrading to lollipop. Web pages simply will not load on connected devices.

I have always been able to tether on kitkat, and upon restoring an old backup running kitkat, I am still able to tether, so the problem is definitely lollipop. I've tried adding net.tethering.noprovisiong=true to build.prop, and editing settings.db to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm considering switching back to kitkat since tethering is pretty important for me.

The device that i use is a Oneplus one 64gb edition
Android Version 4.4.4
Google Play store version : 4.9.13

Since 8th jan 2015 , i am unable to update or install new apps. The initial error message i got was Error 905. I checked the internet and followed the below steps to resolve it
1) Go to Settings
2) Apps -> all apps
3) find google play store - > uninstall any updates -> clear cache and data
4) Reboot the phone
5) launch google play store , wait till it updates itself and try to download the apps again.

Inspite of following these steps , i was still getting the error message.
I have hard reset the phone 5 times in the last 4 days but to no avail.

Since the last 2 days i am getting error 495.
I have removed my google account from my phone accounts and added it back ( this is as per the number of blogs that are floating on the internet ) but to no avail.

Play store selectively updates apps.

I thought it could be a problem with my WiFi network . So i tried updating/downloading apps using my Cellular network but the problem persists.

Could you please help me out with this issue as my phone currently is not a SMARTphone like it is supposed to be.

I have been flashing roms for the last 2 months on my oneplus one i.e moving between Kitkat roms and Lollipop roms . could this be the problem for my play store to play up ? ( out of the box question)

[Q] LG G2 - Security Error - Unable to do anything at all topic

I tried installing Android Lollipop on my LG G2 D802 model and now my phone is totally stuck in the boot. At first it shows the LG logo and then it show the LG logo and the text "Security Error" underneath. I think I've tried all combinations of "button-holding" during startup but I'm not able to access the recovery mode (or any other mode). I've tried hooking it up with the computer (Windows 8.1) but it doesn't seem to see it.

I'm pretty embarrassed by the whole situation :silly: so any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I'm having some trouble entering the default Android Recovery on my S5830i, as it appears to not have it on my model. I've tried holding the Home + Volume up + Power buttons and a combination of others, though nothing works. Holding the Volume up + Volume down + Power buttons enters into download mode, so there's always that.

Can anyone explain how I would factory reset my device without the recovery mode? Is this something that can be done via Odin?

Hi guys I have a 18 month old Micromax Canvas HD A116. I rooted it since 6 months and had no problem with flashing ROMs and all the other various processes you can do after rooting... but since 2 weeks i have had a recurring problem of crashes. i was using the same rom for 3 months and then one day suddenly messages start popping up rapidly 'Play Store has stopped working', 'Chrome has stopped working', then the entire phone crashes and 'unfortunately com.android.phone has stopped working'... i reboot & the same goes on repeating... i then unrooted & flashed my stock rom back in sptools and there was no problem for some hours and then the whole thing started again...gapps has stopped working, acore has stopped working, media has stopped working and then phone has stopped working. Its very frustrating and i just can't use my phone for any purpose. Can someone help me on this.. i made an account on xda just to ask this.. although i have noticed one difference.. before unrooting gapps did not crash as much as it did after unrooting... i tried signing out of google and then signing in again but did not help. what can i do now...

I install TWRP via odin on my galaxy core i8262. installation was successful and pass shows in odin screen. but when I tried to on my phone in recovery mode by pressing volume down+home+powre key then my phone does not go on any recovery mode neither stock recovery nor TWRP and phone starts. in simple words I m unable to on my phone in any recovery mode.:( so plzz help me... and I have a ques also is my phone warranty is voided by installing custom recovery??:confused: I have only install recovery?? plzz reply soon...:(

I'm not able to root my n900 under the last firmware 4.4.2 using "CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900" ! Odin3 gives me a message "Failed" in red, and my n900 blocked, I was obliged to update the firmware with Odin3 to unblock it!

any idea ? is CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900 working with the last firmware 4.4.2 ?

[Q] Unable to download apps . error 905 on the play store! topic

Since last night i am unable to download apps or update apps through the google play store. I get an error 905. The phone was rooted . i have cleared data/cache in the download manager app , google play store, google play services. rebooted the phone but to no avail.

I have returned it to stock image without any custom recovery as well.
I created a new google account to check if this was a problem with my id , but this hasnt helped either.
Could you please help me out
