[Q] Currently most stable AOSP LP Rom for D855? topic

As the title says... Based on your experience, what is the most stable AOSP Lollipop ROM have you used yet?

[Q] Most stable and efficient ROM*? topic

Hi,

New in Motorola world (long time user of Samsung phablets), I'd like few advices about best rom. I have been long time user of Cyanogen but it's not yet officially avalaible so should I go for this unofficial build of CM12: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...uilds-t2988749 or this one that looks very promising in term of speed and stability: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...clean-t2991714

For root and unlock, this tool looks ok ?*http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...1-9-8-t2947452

Thanks for advices,

Vincèn

The most interesting Bluetooth headset - Sony MDRZX750BNB topic

Sony MDRZX750BNB is a recent model of Bluetooth headphones which also provide noise cancelling and some other very interesting features.

The noise-cancelling part is working OK, it is still debatable if that is as effective as the top of the line Bose noise-cancelling headphones (which are not wireless) but in car and plane the noise cancelling is quite effective.

The wireless connection is actually made of two different connections (which can even go to two different sources) - one for "call audio" and the other for "media audio". If the "media audio" is not by default in the high-quality aptX/AAC mode you can force that (check if the blue LED blinks in groups of 3).

Sound is IMHO good towards very good and the buttons are well-placed (for a right-handed) and provide all the functions you need most often (play/pause, answer/reject, skip fwd/back, you reject a phone call with a long-press on the pause/answer button).

Battery life is OK (you can extend that by disabling noise cancelling when not needed and I believe you can also use it wired when completely discharged). NFC is also very handy.

The manual is kind of basic from the technical point of view but there is a good guide online from Sony:

Most stable ROM? topic

Hi, I just dusted off my vibrant after 3 years, flashed S+ Reborn 4.4.4 & NeatKernel (the phone didn't like Semaphore, everything was crashing)
Can you recommend a more stable rom/kernel? ICS/JB perhaps?

[Q] Most aesthetically pleasing/non invasive Z3 screen protector topic

Hey guys, My Z3 took a nasty fall onto some tile floor from about 4 feet, flat onto the ground. picked it up and sure enough it's shattered and touch doesn't work now.

5 replacement, more disappointed in myself than anything.

I want to make sure the new screen is more protected, but I hate most screen protectors. I don't like that they're visible, and I don't like if they affect the viewing.

The best screen protector I've ever had the pleasure of using was actually the one preapplied to the Z1/s I used to have. Never even would have known it was there if not for reading about it on the internet. Is there a similar aftermarket protector I can get for my Z3?

Been thinking of Spigen but not sure.

[Q] Can I get suggestions on the most lightweight ROM? topic

I just want to use it as an overgrown MP3 player to sync with my Google Play Music and Spotify accounts and hopefully save on battery life as much as possible. I have no need to still use it as a phone (there's no SIM card for it anyway), but I still want to keep the wifi and bluetooth connectivity.

Thanks.

[Q] [A700] Bad performance on all ROMs, apparently only 1 core used most of the time topic

Hey there,
so i have been trying to get my girlfriends A700 on a modern version of Android, but so far stuff like Omni ROM or Pacman ROM had REALLY bad performance. I'm talking about 7-12 fps in the launcher and most other apps, which to me is unbearable. Today i was experimenting with kernel settings, and for this activated the CPU usage overlay.

It showed that 90% of the time only CPU0 is used and all other cores are deactivated and idle. I'm not sure if this is intended behaviour, but in combination with the choppy performance it's kind of suspicious to me.

So basically i have 2 questions:

1) Are all the Android 4.2 and up custom ROMs just really slow, or is there something wrong on my gfs device?
2) Should the device be running on one core all the time?

[Guide] Most Problems and Info's that you must Know about ADB and Fastboot topic

Tips & Guides About Moto G 2014 ADB and FastBoot

The most of people have problems with fastboot and ADB. Here will explain some tips and guides.

- Do u know can use ADB in recovery mode?
Yeah if u have bricked your phone or deleted system or can't put the Debug Mode have a alternative. This happens the Device ADB have two modes. The USB mode and Debugging Mode, using two different drivers. When you download Motorola Device Manager he installs the Debugging Drivers. In Motorola is really hard obtain the correct drivers.

- Can I flash zips with fastboot?
Yeah but isn't recommended the people try that:
- fastboot flash zip myzip.zip
This is incorrect he will try to flash a .IMG in a partition called zip.
- fastboot -I flash system myzip.zip
This is incorrect. When you download a ROM backup to flash in Recovery he have some partitions making that will create a partition into a partition. Bricking your device.
The correct way to flash ROM is in recovery.

- I can't transfer file on my device.. Can I flash?
Yes using two methods
- ADB push
You push to your device a .zip with the Rom eg.:
- adb push my file.zip /sdcard or /sdcard1
This will push your file to the device and you can after that flash in recovery.
Is normal after digit the command nothing happens. Differently fastboot the ADB doesn't shows progress of transfer.
- ADB side load
You can flash sideload the zip
Using adb sideload myzip.zip
Must enable sideload mode on your recovery.

- my device doesn't appear on the list.
When you are on boot loader mode the ADB doesn't runs. Only in recovery mode or system mode.
Most times you have incorrect drivers. But if u are on recovery mode try that on cmd:
adb kill-server
adb usb
This will enter the daemon service in USB mode.

- can I reboot my device in recovery? Yes, adb reboot recovery

- can I wipe my firmware with fastboot? Yes, using these cmds.
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache

- can I get my device info?
Yes with ADB.
adb get-imei
adb get-serialno
adb get-deviceno

If u have more questions write here. I will add on OP.

[Q] Problem with contacts backup/restore - which forum is most appropriate? topic

I use CyanogenMod without GApps, and Titanium Backup for backup/restore. Never had a problem with it until now.

Today I tried to migrate from CM11 on one phone to CM11 on another, and my contacts restore is behaving really strange. A few factors made me post here first:
  • A lot of people are only used to android with GApps, or backup via Google. So replies are often distracted by advice to use Google, or people questioning if Android can work without GApps.

  • The issue to focus on isn't clear - is it CM, Titanium, or Android basic structures (profiles? accounts?) that's responsible? Should I use a phone-related forum for it?

Any tips where to ask, ideally with likely high quality answers  , would be much appreciated!
