[Q] Root success, but how to install recovery. topic

I've successfully rooted my I9300, actually I wanted to install recovery and try new ROMSsso I went to the method with recovery install through ODIN. But it didn't work for me as the matter was overwriting of stock revovery, I tried every method there to somehow get recovery installed. But all failed. Finally went to CF AutoRoot method and I only have root access now, the phone feel a bit slow now.

1. When an root app is run it takes a lot time to prompt me with root grant/deny(precise to say some app shown timeout). What's the problem?
2. Can somebody say how to get custom recovery in this condition?
3. I have backed up the efs and got two backup files as these[efs.raw.img-20 MB & modem.bin-12.1 MB] . Is it all? anything missing?

After getting a recovery I will make a NANDROID Backup. But please help me in the above three questions.

Thanks for your kind reply.

XCOM + GLTools Success? topic

I was really dissapointed that XCOM wasn't compatible with the Nexus 9. However, I came across users who got it running on the Nvidia SHIELD tablet via an app called GLTools. I assumed that since both the Nexus 9 and SHIELD have the same processor (Tegra K1) that the settings used for GLTools to get XCOM to work on SHIELD would be the same for Nexus 9. This is not the case.

I had some success using the Mali template. Everything renders! However, I've never been able to actually load a match to play. After some time during the mission objective screen, even before it has finished loading, the app will crash.

Has anyone gotten the game to work with GLTools? Or any other solutions?

Chromecast Screencast - Anyone had success? topic

Has anyone had success using the screencast feature on their chromecast with this phone? I tried installing the latest CyanogenMod nightly (cm-11-20150104-NIGHTLY-epicmtd) along with the gapps-small for CM 11 from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps#Downloads and the phone was able to find the chromecast and even begin connecting to it in order to start the screencast (the TV screen even changes to black to show that it is trying to connect), however Google Play Services immediately crashes on the phone afterwards and causes a disconnect. An error then appears on the TV saying something went wrong while connecting and to try again.

I just wanted to know whether anyone was successful in using this or if they know how to make it work. Any info is appreciated.
