[Q] Why isn't there HDR+ on the Nexus 4? topic

Hi,

Why isn't it possible to use the HDR+ camera algorithm on the Nexus 4 device, running Android 5?
Guess HDR+ have nothing to do with hardware(?), so why haven't the nexus 4 been updated?

It just stopped working all of a sudden. Can't specify a reason. I have the latest firmware, no root or anything like that.

[Q] [ROM DEV] My Lollipop custom ROM isn't booting. topic

I've recently been working on a custom Lollipop rom for the One with dsixda's Android Kitchen for modification, and zipping the rom with WinRar and signing with this sign tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...96#post6050996 I'm also unable to record a logcat, because adb doesn't detect my One when it is stuck on the boot screen (Stuck on OnePlus Logo).

The rom is based on SlimSaber for the One but I have been customising APKs and icons, fonts, build.prop, etc. I'm flashing the rom with TWRP 2.8 and Lollipop Gapps, flashing the Rom is all ok but it flashes suspiciously fast, a lot faster than the Gapps. I have also added a custom kernel which is SM/Linaro (http://forum.xda-developers.com/onep...2861919/page75) I've zipaligned all of the apks and there is no root as of now.

Can anyone help?

N6 isn't the perfect Nexus .. topic

After a week of testing my N6 i can clearly say that N5 was a long way better in his time ..

I'll explain myself.

With the bug that make the sound going from low to loud. (And don't say it's feature because it's not ! Exemple : when you reboot your phone for exemple, unlock it and go to one game like clash of clan very quickly for exemple, you'll clearly hear the sound making weird things like there's low volume then going up by itself ..)

The performance issues.. (Many games stuttering, Facebook app that lags like hell, Here Maps too, Shazam stuttering animation.. Well in other word many app that doesn't act like it should with the power of our N6)

The battery isn't as great as Note 4 or at least comparable.. it's very inconsistant .. well it's still better than N5 but it's just "OK"

The purple tint when very low brightness (amoled issue but again Note 4 don't have a issue like that)

The camera is more than OK but it's still not like something WOW and taking a picture take much time if you compare to other flagship..


I don't own a Note 4 but after all YouTube Videos and even a friend Note 4 that's why i'm comparing these two..
But i own a N5 and back in december 2013 when i receive my N5 i can clearly say that it wasn't the perfect phone but more close to perfect phone than our N6 is.

I really hope that Google update will solve at least the performance issue and the "inconsistant sound" issue cause it's clearly software issue and make our battery a bit better.. Then i'll say that N6 will be more close to the perfect "phablet" I love my n6 beside all these issues, the material used, the 6" screen, the speakers (when they go well) and lollipop feature are awesome !

[Q] I9300 won't boot, has no recovery mode and isn't getting recognized by Windows topic

Hi guys, I need some help with my Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.

A couple weeks ago my phone turned off by itself and never turned on completely again. If I turn it on, it stays on the very first boot screen forever (the white text saying Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300, like this one (https://cdn-images.xda-developers.co...0.bootlogo.jpg).
I've removed the SIM card and the MicroSD card with no effects whatsoever, and I've also left the device turned on for hours but it always stays on the same screen.

I cannot enter recovery mode (it just shows the boot screen mentioned above) but I can enter download mode. At download mode, I get this info:

As you can see, I have never flashed a custom rom (or rooted or even unlocked the bootloader). This is what intrigues me the most, since everybody I've seen with the same problem had trouble during or after a flash.
My last OS version was 4.3.1 and it was received OTA months ago.

In the past few months, my device rebooted out of nowhere, even when I was not using it. Occasionally, it had the stuck power button, which caused it to reboot on a loop, but I always solved it by nudging the power button a little. I don't know if these two previous problems might have caused the problem I'm facing now, but they're not showing up anymore.

Anyway, I've tried to flash the newest official rom (NK1 - ZTO) via Odin but I always get a NAND Write error.
I've tried changing USB ports, USB cable and computers; tried Odin 3.04, 3.07 and 3.09; tried Samsung USB drivers v1.5.45 and 1.5.49 but nothing of the above made any difference.

Today things started getting worse, though. In the past, Windows would always recognize the device on at least one specific USB port; Odin would also recognize the device and then I would get the NAND Write error. Now, Windows will not recognize the device no matter the cable, USB port or driver version. I only get a unknown device error and Odin won't recognize anything connected.

I tested all my setup with a working Galaxy S3 I9300 and it got recognized every single time, no matter the USB port, the cable or the computer.
Considering that another device is getting recognized by different computers, I suppose that the problem lies in my Galaxy S3.

So, can anyone offer me any kind of advice or point me in any direction on how I can try to fix my phone? Is my phone physically dying and no software solution will unbrick it?

why isn't temaseks lollipop in android dev yet? topic

Its a great rom that you can find by googling temasek, but for some reason he isnt posting it in dev? It also says dont donate to me on his site. Anyone know whats up with that?
