Default call log help topic

Anyone know how to change the default call log settings? It's on all calls and messages. I like to have mine on all calls as default. I can change it but it doesn't stick and always goes back to all calls and messages. I swear on my note 3 I was able to set all calls as default.

Change default download manager in Android topic

Hello everyone.
I have a very slow internet connection due to which downloads from play store and even chrome browser take a very very long time to complete. Due to this I either use Advanced Download Manager or UC Browser to download things. Obviously I can't use them to download things from play store which is what I intend to get help on. My question is:
Is there a way to get all my downloads to be performed using one particular app (any download manager) ?
I am rooted so even if the trick u suggest requires something relating to system files I don't mind. I wouldn't want to flash a custom ROM though.
Also please suggest a download manager which u think is better and faster than ADM or which works well for you.
Any help is appreciated.

Okay, Now i've tried all the Roms up to the B008 and find it a bit aggregating that the dpi is set to 400 and that the Gapps have a bit of a problem or a twist to get them operating in a good manner. so what i would like to do is go back to the default international rom that originally came with this "Phablet". The device is absolutely brilliant but the experience was much better when i was operating the 4.2.2 EMUI 2.0 Version. and so i would really appreciate if somebody can help me Get this device to it's original out of the box status.

[Q] Unable to enter default Android recovery topic

Hi,

I'm having some trouble entering the default Android Recovery on my S5830i, as it appears to not have it on my model. I've tried holding the Home + Volume up + Power buttons and a combination of others, though nothing works. Holding the Volume up + Volume down + Power buttons enters into download mode, so there's always that.

Can anyone explain how I would factory reset my device without the recovery mode? Is this something that can be done via Odin?

All app data gone and reset to default. Philz recovery glitch? topic

I was rooted, had Philz CWM recovery, agni kernel and xposed. Everything worked fine, I used to get forced reboots when the system heated up but it was nothing new, everything worked like it used to after reboot.
Since just today I changed to "winter 3d LWP" which is mildly graphics intensive, didnt experience any lag.
Then when I pressed the home button sometime later that day, the 3d wallpaper stretched across and after sometime, phone rebooted but was stuck in loop this time. just to make sure i accessed philz recovery mode and rebooted from there. It took some time for the system to boot but everything was reset to default, all the app data and phone settings were reset excluding the data I manually put there, which seemed like the dalvik cache was wiped or something. So i accessed the recovery mode again and rebooted since i couldn't find anything that would help.

But after boot i got the same interface, it asked me to login to dropbox and asked to login and stuff which I already did after the app data was automatically wiped the first time.
Is this some philz recovery glitch?
Any possible way I can get the data back? Not possible though but anything will be appreciated since this is the third time I'm losing my data. It's tough to recover from that situation.

Im running android 5.0.1, rooted
and I have a problem using Swiftkey as my default keyboard.

It keeps switching back to the Google one.

Any idea on how to fix this?

i used an app which i forgot name of it. it changed my contact pictures which i chose inside of app but now i forgot the name of app and my contact's pictures i can't changing. how can i change these absurd pictures to stock pictures back? do u know an app for change these pictures? i don't want to delete these pictures

by the way i think this about my google account cause pictures changing when i sing in my google account

Help nexus 9 boots into recovery by default topic

I am in a messed up situation, I live outside US, asked a friend to bring me a nexus 9 from US. Tablet was ordered from Amazon, and when I received it its box was open. Anyway long story short when I turned on the tablet it showed me google logo then directly went to recovery screen (android logo with exclamation sign and text no command). This is all I get no matter how many times I restart the tablet.

I don't know how it got into this state, but I tried resetting it from recovery and fast boot, but it shows me same screen.

Boot loader is locked and I can not unlock it with unlock boot loader command, it tells me I don't have permission to run this command, now I know in nexus 9 you have to check a box in developer settings to run that command but the irony is I never reach the OS screen.

So I have locked boot loader, I am in a boot loop where my tablet boots into recovery by default, I can not unlock boot loader with simple unlock command, but I have access to boot loader and recovery and also ADB.

What option if any I have, is there any way to unlock boat loader without first checking that box in developer options, I really need help here other wise my money is going down the drain.

[Q] Ellipsis 7 Default ROM? topic

So, I dun goofed trying to change the default font on my Ellipsis 7 after rooting it, and now it won't get past the Verizon boot screen. Since it's such a cheap, generic tablet that no one wants to make anything for, I can't even find a stock rom for it. What should I do? Is there even anything I can do?

I used Root Genius to root it and I tried replacing the Roboto fonts manually. I have the fonts backed up on the internal storage in the fonts folder, and I've backed up my data to an SD card and wiped it off of the internal memory. That didn't affect the system folder, though, so I still can't do anything. I really don't want to buy another tablet, but it might be a better idea to do that since there's practically nothing out there for the one I have.

Any app to change the default "twist" camera? topic

I would love to get rid of the crappy Moto Camera app when I use the twist for camera feature. I remember that the 1st Gen had an app, wondering if anyone has found one that works for us here.

[Q] Alternatives to default Contacts app and Gallery app topic

I'm looking for an alternative to the default Samsung Contacts and Gallery app.

Gallery app - the default Samsung app is rather slow/laggy. I'm hoping for something that has some form of Cloud Backup service (something like the auto-backup feature in Google Photos). I trying QuickPic right now but it's missing on the Cloud features

Contacts app - the default Samsung app is slow and buggy as well. From time to time, my contacts are "unlinked" from the dialer and sms app (causing the contacts to show up as numbers rather than contact names). To fix this, I export, delete and import my contacts. However, this causes all my contact pictures to become low-res. I tried Contacts+ but it is not really what I'm looking for.
