Weird microphone bug with android lollipop topic

I recently got android lollipop on my 2012 Nexus 7 and I noticed the microphone doesn't work in Portrait mode. I've tried saying "ok google", pressing the button to talk, using the microphone while taking a video and even installed a sound recorder app and the microphone never worked. Though when I flip the tablet to landscape mode the microphone starts working normaly, (and no my hand isn't blocking the microphone hole).

It's very wierd, the microphone only works in landscape mode...

Weird display brightness issue topic

Hi all, yesterday i noticed a problem regarding display brigtness: i saw that below 24% value, brightness is set automatically to 0%, i mean..i can set from 0% to 23% but brightness doesn't change at all, it's like always set to 0! Upper 24% it is ok.
It's nothing tragic but is still a problem and i don't see where i'm messing.
I'm running cloudyg3+dorimanx.
Any help would be appreciated.

Weird Camera issue. topic

I have the option to save my photo's to external SD which was working well until recently. So what is happening is, I take a photo and it appears in gallery but after reboot it is gone.

I'm sure this is an easy one for you, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Galaxy s3 (LTE) slow charging (very weird behaviour) topic

My S3 is charging slow.
Unless I plug in and unplug every 5 minutes.
Basically I downloaded the galaxy current monitoring app and whenever I plug my max current is 1000ma but it starts to drop until it reaches 0. I have tried different chargers and cables and some don't even get me to 1000ma.

I don't think its a problem with my USB port since it starts well and it drops.

Could it be my battery?

Lg g3 d855 weird issue topic

Guys , so far I was able to connect to wifi without sim when I just used my brand new G3 without sim.

Now , with sim , wifi doesn't work like connects to wireless network but I cannot connect to internet.

I remove sim and voila it works.

Also, I factory reset & remove sim , and voila play store works.

I insert sim and omg! play store doesn't work.

I cannot understand why all this is happening.

If there are any awesome kitkat stable roms for G3 D855 , maybe I need guidance and I am willing to try solution .

Though if it gets sorted without me needing to flash TWRP / CUSTOM ROM , it would be fantastic!

[Q] Weird Screen Problem topic

Hello everyone.
My frined just gave me a Xperia Play so i can play around with it and see if I can fix it. Now the problem is that it boots fine, shows Sony Ericcson , take a while and then shows a very strange screen just like that of the tv with no signal , like that with the flies one. can't post links.
So, i use flash tool to reflash it with R800i_4.0.A.2.368_World fw. Again the same thing. The bootloader is unlocked so i flashed with the Lupus kernel and no thing and again with doomkernel which seems to be working with this specific rom only but again this time the animation stays and then shuts down. The animation takes too long. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

[Q] Weird bootloop topic

NOTE: This device is not mine, it belongs to my girlfriend and I am the one troubleshooting for her.

here goes:

Yesterday, while a friend of my girlfriend's was playing with her Galaxy Nexus (my GF's), it suddenly rebooted itself without warning.

From what I understand, Nexus bootloops that are caused by faulty flashing usually loops at the "Google" logo (correct me if I'm wrong). Her's is a different story, her Galaxy Nexus is pure stock, locked bootloader, un-rooted and definitely nothing custom on in; literally pure stock. Instead of looping at the "Google" logo, her GNexus loops at the "X" logo, my assumption is that there is something, maybe a rogue app, that is causing her device to bootloop upon reaching startup phase.

I know this isn't a software/ROM level issue since we were able to get to her lockscreen a few times and then the phone reboots after a few seconds. I've tried wiping cache but didn't work, and she won't let me try wipe data/factory reset because she has a lot of important files on her phone. So odin flashing and wipe data/factory reset is out of the question.

so here are some details that might be of interest:

1.) Her phone is not rooted and is pure stock android 4.1.2
2.) does not have custom recovery
3.) does not have usb debugging enabled (not sure, but I assume it's not enabled)
4.) can still boot to fastboot/recovery/download mode
5.) reboots at the X logo

So the basic troubleshooting methods are out, now I'm thinking of using adb pull to extract files from her phone via adb, but problem is, usb debugging is off! Is there any way of recovering her files at least without booting to the ROM itself so I can flash another version of android on it (via odin)?

I've also read about "safe mode" that boots the device without starting up 3rd party apps, only the core essentials. I'd like to go down that route if possible, but we've tried most of the guides on how to boot into safe mode but to no avail. There was one time though that the device booted up and she managed to: open power menu > hold power off > reboot to safe mode, but nothing happened, it just rebooted only to get stuck at the X again.

I may be overthinking this, so I've turned to XDA for help. I know you guys don't like people asking n00bish queries but I've exhausted everything I can think of and I'd like to try everything before I go down the route where I can possibly do even more damage.

I really need help with this, anyone have any ideas? We'd really appreciate it!

Issue with haptics!

Device: Samsung Galaxy Win Duos/Grand Quattro GT-i8552.
Kernal: Stock
ROM: COSMIC (CM10)

Previously, when it was still the stock Android 4.1.2 the virtual buttons of the "Pie Controls" of GravityBox always vibrates the device when a button is selected e.g. recent apps, home, or the back button. And, that's why I did not use the Pie Controls feature, and because I don't like too much haptics espeically when just trying to check recently opened apps or even just going to the home screen.

The first time I switched to COSMIC, pressing/selecting a G.B. Pie Controls button wouldn't cause the to vibrate, so I used the Pie Controls. The vibrations still worked for calls and messages and all that. Suddenly, after I tested it with Antutu Benchmark, all those buttons would return a haptic feedback ever time they're pressed. I didn't know where to turn this off. Went online for help but found no easy way of stopping it, so I re-flashed the ROM. Haptics was still there. I re-flashed it again, it still vibrates. I got tired, so I tried to just ignore it. And out of nowhere, I flashed it again, and fortunately, I guess it was the third or fourth flashing of COSMIC, those haptics on the Pie Controls buttons were gone. :laugh:

Something happened that I have to flash it again, now it's back. Is there a way to turn haptics off per app? Or a way to turn it off?

Hi! first poster here.

I've just got this phone wich was recently unlocked from TELCEL MEX carrier. The weird thing here is that the phone work flawlessly with any domestic carrier sim cards, but not with my US T-Mobile sim card.

I've test this T-mobile sim card with other unlocked phones (Galaxy S4 i9500 and Alcatel Pop) here in México without problem, but in the S4 above mentioned asks for sim unlock code.

The cell phone is SGH-I337M with KitKat 4.4.2. and firmware CSC code TCE

Weird problem with Moto360 topic

I have had the Moto360 for a number of weeks now and the notifications are not reliable. I am really missing things. Through the day they work but all of a sudden they stop. I reset the watch and they work again for some time. Any idea's? Watch is not usable in this way.

Weird problems with my m8 after rooting and s-off. topic

So about 2 days ago I got my new m8 and I was Lucky enough to get a older device (4.4.2) so all I had to do was run sunshine, and I was s-off and rooted in no time. But I've noticed some problems. First of all is that latest twrp does not work, I clean cache and everything, but no luck, it just gets stuck on the splash screen with the pink text at the top. Older versions work tho. And second problem is that if I install insercoin it takes for ever to reboot every time and splash screen is not present.

I was thinking that maybe my problems are related to my older boot loader? Or something of the sorts? Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

But Today I switched to Note Edge, and I will hand over S4 i9500 to one of my family members so I just flashed I9500UBUGNJ1_I9500UUBGNJ1_I9500UBUGNJ1_HOME.tar.md 5 via odin..

And what i see now on the download mode is Knox Warranty Void : 0

I have rooted and installed unlimited number of custom roms. Is it really what I am thinking? My knox counter really reset itself?

If yes, how is it possible?

[Q] Xperia z won't Boot but weird situation only for XPERIA GURU topic

Hi wonderful XDA forums, i'm an italian user, then sorry for my bad english.
I'm in a very strange situation, the new year starts strange for me.
Yesterday trying to short circuit the resistor to make the vibration works again( i read on internet and i see that works with other Xperia Z), the phone power down and won't boot anymore.
The strange things appears now, when i plug the usb cable for charge the phone, nothing appear, no LED, but if i disconnect the battery with the USB cable plugged-in the led blink red one time then blink a second time and become blue, and if i press volume down immediately afer the first led red blink, the led become green for 1 sec and the phone go in Download Mode.
When i use original Sony charger same situation, but when i disconnect the battery the led blink red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots go in a bootloop like this, red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots, i noticed that if i press power button several times after the SONY logo i can see the low battery icon but if stop to press the button the screen goes off and restart the bootloop describes upper.
I try several wall charger, and several cables oviusly the original SONY USB cable and wall charger, but nothing change, the battery is new and works because i test it with another phone.
Connecting to PC i can flash rom ftf with FlashTool without errors, but at the end of the process the phone won't boot, and won't charge same problems.
I noticed that the phone can't be recognise if the battery is connected, just when i disconnect the battery the phone go in fastboot mode or in download mode, for example when i flash a new ROM with flashtool when ask to connect the phone i must disconnect the battery and press volume down (in this way the PC recognise the phone, and the phone go in download mode) then i can connect or left disconnect the battery, anyway the flash operation would be OK but nothing change.
Sometimes when i connect the phone to PC the system ask me for QHSUBS_DLOAD drivers and sometimes the phone is recognised with SOMC FLASH....

I know this is a very bad situation, only Xperia Guru's can help me, but probably this phone is dead.

But I trust in XDA Community and i know that is the only place i can get serious and valid reply

Have you had any weird sound from speakers on notifications? topic

Just wondering if any of you sometimes have had any weird sound as distorted or like broken speakers a very few times when you receive a notification?

I'm pretty sure that could be an android os bug or sound driver bug but still I want to confirm with some of you.

We have 2 Nexus 6 at home, my wife and mine and both of us have experienced the same weird sound issue rarely times and not often, so I don't think that is a defective hardware but I am not sure.

Please advise.
