I've read that Motorola doesn't supply drivers for Linux. As a result, I can't mount my phone when connecting through USB, and the only way I have to view its files from the computer is by opening an adb shell.

I'd like to see and manage my phone files in a proper visual file manager in my computer. Is there any solution to this that doesn't involve a network connection? :confused:

I tried through bluetooth too, unsuccessfully.

[Q] Compass not working (Motorola RAZR HD) topic

GPS is working fine. But compass isn't working at all. Three or four compass apps that I tried (and which I have successfully used in older phones) either crash or show a frozen needle pointing up as North. Tried for weeks to see compass working and nothing.

Researched and found no plausible solution.

To make things weirder, yesterday, only once, compass worked perfectly in SatStat app. I did nothing different and am now unable to reproduce it. Yes, trying it outdoors, but although one should be able to get compass from GPS, AFAIK it should be available directly from the phone sensors with no need for GPS. Then again, except for yesterday's fluke, it's working neither way.

[Q] Need help for bricked Razr i / firmware links topic

Hello Forum,

as a newbie in Razr i I tried today to unblock my Bootloader and of course made an error during this:(
I downloaded the file "RAZRi_Root_Linux.zip" from user "mattlgrof".
Unpacked it and run the file "Root.sh".... yes I know. I have read the HowTo, but ...I don't know what I thought!?
And of course the shell said reboot and the phone stuck on the red Motorola logo :)
Looking into the file, I saw that the last command executed was:
"sudo $fastboot flash boot ./files/razr_i_boot_insecured.img"
And the output was:

As I have read until know I could restore the phone by installing a astock firmware via RSD, right?
But in the last 5! hours I couldn't find a valid link for a firmware download. :(
So my question/request are:
- Can I solve this by installing a stock ROM via RSD?
- Can someone provide me an link to a firmware download?
The specs of my phone:
- European ( germany), unbranded
- OTA update to JB 4.1.2
- previously rooted with windows using a "android trick", I don't exactl remember how :)

[Q] How can I fix my RAZR M radio? topic

Last fall, I bought a used RAZR M with the intention of flashing it over to us on Page Plus. I had just flashed my wife's RAZR MAXX over and thought "How hard can it be?" This was JUST before Page Plus announced 4G LTE on their network (facepalm).

I rooted and unlocked the bootloader with motochopper. But I was having trouble finding an up to date guide for flashing the M to pageplus. The phone was on KitKat, and the exploit had just come out, so none of the guides had been updated... and of course none of them would be because Page Plus got 4G LTE. So my timing was just REALLY bad.

Long story short... I tried muddling through with an older guide. I flashed a recommended radio file via RSD Lite, and the M's radio stopped working completely.

I got frustrated with the process and set the phone aside, but I want to get it working now, since I can use it on Pageplus without flashing.

It's got ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.9, although for some reason every time I try to install a zip from it, it fails.

Can someone point me to a working radio for my phone I can install via RSD Lite, or tell me if there is a different/better way to fix it?

[Q] Unlocked Droid Razr M XT907 VZW Reboots topic

Greetings.

Just this past week I was able to unlock the bootloader on my XT907 Droid Razr M. I've been able to use both recovery tools, CWM and TWRP. I'm also able to use RSD Lite to SBF to both the JB and KK with out running into problems. So then I decided to try the older CM 10.1.3 ROM, on JB bootloader, and I was able to get it to boot successfully, but my wifi was broken. So I SBF'd back to the KK BL, installed TWRP, did a factory wipe and installed CM 11 and the appropriate GAPPS. The phone booted up and I was able to click next through a few menus, then the phone rebooted. The same thing happened, it would reboot and I'd click through the 1st few screens and it would reboot. I tried the PacMan rom and it did the same thing. Each time I'd factory reset/restore and flash a rom. Does anybody have some ideas that I might be missing?

[Q] Q: Droid Razr M failing to update topic

My phone is on stock 4.4.2 kitkat. It's not rooted or anything like that, but it won't allow me to update it at all. I can see the error that it is showing when it fails to update and goes to that green android guy with the mark of death sort of symbol.

It says "galaxy4.apk has unexpected contents." Any advice from anyone? I don't care much about the update, but it's annoying me personally to see the notification every single day at the same time.

I have bought new Motorola RAZR Maxx XT910 a week ago and I got into many problems.
I can't install BMM and I don't know what Rom is now the best.the newer and the fault free one.

Hello! I have been running CM12 (lollipop 5.0.1) on my XT926 for months now, only updated it once from the original version posted. I decided to update it again because a few things have become wonky; however, it seems the thread no longer exists. AM I GOING CRAZY?!?! Did it ever exist? Did it have to get taken down? Can someone please fill me in? I have absolutely been ENTHRALLED with this ROM and do not want to put something else on here if an updated version of CM12 is floating around here somewhere. I saw Validus is on here, which will serve as my next ROM if this has ceased to exist. Any info is much appreciated!
