I was thinking of upgrading from a custom 4.4.4 rom to custom 5.0.1 rom. I will do a clean flash but was wondering if I brought the data for programs/saved games (not apk) over would it have any conflicts on the programs or lollipop in general? I am unlocked, rooted and S-Off.

hello, im looking to get a note 3 on ebay and it seems there all running jelly bean. I would like to know what is the best option for me. I would like root access as I was using android-wifi-tither on my old Motorola.
-should I do the ota update to kitkat,
(when I did this on my driod maxx it locked the bootloaded and I was no longer able to root or use wifi so I got rid if it. )
-should/can I install this leaked lollypop am seeming.
(how would I root it, would it have native wifi support)

Moving from TMobile to Consumer Cellular - unlocking topic
I just thought I would relate my newbie story on this for any other newbies.
My son bought a TMobile 4G Slide from Ebay a few months ago for and used it on TMobile Prepay no problem, then wanted to move it to Consumer Cellular (he's a low volume user so their plans would be a much better deal for him)
So he asked me to move the phone. I did make him root it for the experience but since the financial stuff required credit cards and he's only 16 I took care of the accounting stuff.
So first thing was ordering the SIM card from CC. That came the next week and I plugged it into his phone. No dice, the phone wanted a network unlock code. I expected that but just wanted to check.
So I called TMobile for the unlock code. Got transferred to pre pay tech support. Ok no problem. Pre Pay TMobile tech support says 'we won't unlock it because there's an amount owing, call our contracts dept."
After wasting an hour or so getting transferred around it finally dawned on me the issue - TMobile has separate tech support departments for Prepay and Postpay accounts. Because this phone had been originally bought on a Postpay account, the Prepay support people couldn't lookup dick on the IMEI number. So I call back in and this time ask for a representative and asked to get transferred to postpay customer service.
I finally get a knowledgeable rep. from Postpay who can look up the IMEI number. He tells me "the IMEI on this one is perfectly clean, there's no outstanding insurance claims or unpaid bills" So much for the dingbats in the other support group.
But, there's a problem. The rep explains that the only way to request a network unlock code on a TMobile phone is to call in, identify yourself as the contract holder (with the phone number of the account, and the PIN) for the matching account that was last used on the phone. If the phone was sold as prepay then you have to call in as the last prepay telephone number to come up on the phone, if the phone was originally sold as post pay you have to call in as a post pay account holder for the account the phone's IMEI was last used on. He said go back to the guy you bought the phone from and ask them to network unlock it.
So I'm stuck. So I dig around in my junk box and come up with an older TMobile 3G slide. This is the predecessor to the 4G slide, it was made by HTC and was used on my wife's TMobile post pay account (which is still active) until she upgraded. So I call into TMobile with that phone, give them the IMEI and a few days later I get an email from TMobile with a network unlock code for the 3G.
I stick in the Consumer Cellular SIM to the 3G and it comes up. But, it cannot get on the CC data network. Voice and text work fine, data does not. I call CC's tech support and they try a bunch of different things, nothing works. They say "well sorry you will just have to upgrade your phone"
So now I'm back to the 4G Slide. So I start searching the Internet can come up with http://unlockcode247.com/ They want to unlock the phone, I figure what the hell. I send them the IMEI and the money and a few hours later I get an unlock code.
The code works, the phone gets on the CC network, and now both voice and data are working just fine.

[Q] Nook Color, problems with moving it back to stock or CM 11. topic
I've spent hours at this now, and Im kind of wondering if my Nook Color is damaged in a way that it allows CWM to think it's written an image to the EMMC but it is actually failing to write anything.
I still have cyanoboot on the device, it still goes into Cyanogenmod boot screen and sits there indefinitely OR it reboots a couple times and gets stuck loading infinitely.
This is AFTER I have tried imaging it back to stock, CM 11, formatting it's partitions with the images on this site and various other things.
So either there is something common in all these tasks Im just blindly missing each time I try this and read/watch another tutorial that doesn't work out for me.....or something is wrong with my the Nook Color.
Can't even do the 8 failed reboots thing Im ASSUMING because the cyanoboot thing is there catching all the failed attempts.
Hadn't used the Nook Color in awhile because my wireless router died and it was kinda pointless to try to use it...now got a nice new router and the damn Nook is making me want to strangle it. So it was in some state other than stock, and I really don't remember if I was trying something new or if it worked fine when the router died at this point. I am just trying to get it to some point where it boots into some kinda of OS so I got some kind of baseline to start from at this point.
So ideas? I can get more specific if need be on what exactly I tried if it seems relevant, but I pretty much pulled the images and guides off the various posts referenced all over the net back to this forum. Hoping I missed something, going to be rather upset if this device is essentially dead since I haven't used it a whole lot since purchase..

[Q] [Paranoid/KITKAT]: Moving apps to SD Card impossible after multiple attempts topic

Over the last few days I've been trying to fix my SD Card writing capability on my rooted HTC One XL, running Paranoid OTA, ROM Version 4.6 Beta 5 (20141022) with Google apps version:mini 4.4.4 (20141011). I've looked around in the forums (including the "similar threads" list suggested to me before writing this thread) and all the solutions I've encountered use some kind of app (e.g FolderMount). Unfortunately, any app I've tried encounters an error when moving apps to SD cards. FolderMount, for instance, says that there is an "unknown error" when moving an application folder and stalls at 0%. Other apps display similar error messages.
I've also done my homework by reading up on the well-known article "KitKat and SD cards — what's fixed, what's broken and what's misunderstood" (unfortunately I can't post outside links because this is my 1st post, but you can Google the title if you need to) which explains why Google proceeded to make these changes with regard to the access of the SD Card from apps.
Finally, I've checked out a manual solution from Droid Views entitled "Fix Write Capability to External SD Card on KitKat Manually [Root]" (again, sorry for not being able to post a direct link). This solution suggests that I edit /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml to include the line <group gid="media_rw"/>. Unfortunately, when I opened that particular xml file, I noticed that it already has that line added.
Currently, all new apps are sent to my phone's internal storage by default, and I can't move them to the SD Card no matter what I've tried (as explained previously). The only good news is that my photos and videos actually do go to the SD Card, so it's not like the card is completely invisible to the OS. The problem limits itself to apps, and it's a real problem because my internal storage is very limited in space, and after a while apps can't update, and naturally extreme fragmentation occurs, hampering my device's performance.
I was wondering if there was a solution for my phone / OS setting. Thank you.
