Battery replacement topic

Hi guys, has anybody of you tried changing their N5's battery? If you did, where did you get the replacement?

My N5 has been showing signs of severe battery degradation. It's easily discharged. I'm finding myself charging it two to three times a day. Even on standby, it discharges a lot even there's no wakelocks I'm seeing from betterbatterystats app. Its been a year since I bought our N5 so I guess it's time to replace its battery.

I'm seeing some batteries from eBay but would like to know from where you get yours and how's the quality compared to the original default one.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z display problems after replacement topic

Hello everyone

It's been a while since I have had a problem with a device that I repair but unfortunately it has happened again today.

Today at 5 pm a friend of mine came by with his xperia z to replace the screen. I first run through the tutorial and see whether I came across something I do not know. Then I just started the repair and took my time to complete it. I finished at 19:30 pm. I also installed a new parts I've replaced the display and the on / off volume flex cable. After having successfully placed everything the most exciting moment of the evening followed, turning on the device. The 1st time I turned on the phone it worked so well. I did some tests and turned the phone a few times on and off to see if that would not cause any problems. But after 4 times the phone only showed the backlight. I have been through all the connections and also did an disassembly again to see if there might be a flex cable that is not properly connected but I could not find anything.

Now my question to you is fellow members, would anyone here help me or has anyone here had previously experienced.

Nexus 6 GP replacement feedback topic

For those who went through the RMA and replacement process with Google Play store, is the replacement you are getting brand new or refurbished devices? Google is telling me they are refurbished and if I want a new one, I have to return the defective device and order it again when it is available in the store. Sounds horrible to me especially when a new 64G white device is so hard to get. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Temperature of Nexus 5 replacement battery topic

Hi,
Sorry to bother you, but could you tell me if your replacement Nexus 5 battery has a varied temperature?
I mean if the temperature goes up to 35 Celsius when it's charging or you're playing games, of if it goes down to 25 when it's idle.
Because my replacement battery always stays at 29 degrees Celsius, no matter how I use the phone.
I think mine might be bad, but I want to check with someone else before buying another one.

The temperature is the same in all the apps: GSam, CPU-Z, secret Android settings menu.
Completely stock system, OTA 5.0.1.

[Q] water damage - need replacement motherboard topic

Hi guys

My z3 died while snorkeling in the sea. Now it turns on when power is connected but keeps power cycling showing only the sony and xperia logos. One time it was showing the battery charging icon and vibrating.

I took it to the shop under warranty and they quoted 0 for a replacement motherboard, stating that they tried it in another phone and it was completely dead.
I couldn't find any prices online and I'm wondering what's the best option.

SIM card not recognized. replacement part or repair? topic

Hello. Was in a hurry and attempted to pull out the Sim card (nano with an adapter) in my xt1064 and ended up removing it, but the phone no longer recognizes any SIM cards. I contacted a local repair and was told the SIM tray is soldered to main board. I did see this video which shows the dual-sim variant as removable (see at 4;45-5:00 min (http://youtu.be/l29IvoYolh8) SIM cards go inside (but not as before), but do pish in and eject OK. I read online re: trying to align pins in the tray, but didn't see a good tutorial. I did open the phone and the tray is not easily openable (see a spring on the side). So how would I go about trying to get this repaired? Looked at etradesuppky and just saw few major parts (screen, housing, battery), unlike a lot more small components avail for xt1032. Any ideas/suggestions? This had to happen right after I flashed an updated lollipop 5.0.1 with success after few weeks of waiting. Thanks for any input.

Screen Replacement topic

Long story short, didn't know I could get Motocare after the fact, and when I did find out, I was four days out of the window and no one at Moto is willing to cut me any kind of slack or a break when doing a screen replacement and doing the 0 credit card hold.

Are there any third party locations that can do a screen repair or has anyone been successful with the various kits on ebay and amazon? I don't mind getting my hands dirty doing it myself, but I'd rather have it done professionally if I could.

no mobile data after screen replacement [solved] and weak reception topic

Hello everyone,

I'm having isssues with mobile data on my N4 after I replaced my digitizer and lcd screen. I dont have problems with WiFi, I also can call others, and others can call me, same with SMS's, but I can't access the internet. As I disconnect my WiFi, signal bars turn orange or get exclamation mark(tried on both kk and lollipop). It shouldn't be an issue witg the antennas, because SMS and calls work(wich also use cellular). Could be wrong though.

I'm also having weak singnal. In my area there is usually sufficient coverage, but in the moment I one bar indoors, 1 or 2 bars near windows(enough for calling, but too little for mobile data), but I used to have 3-4 bars indoors. Any fix to that?

Any help is welcome. :o

Edit: got access to internet by readjusting APN(duh). Never thought of that beause it usually does it itself.

Lock screen replacement on CM12 topic

I've been running CM12 for a while now and the only thing I dislike about Lolipop is the lock screen. I really miss widgets and apps on my lock screen. I installed C Locker (Pro) which I had used on a different phone running KK and it works much better now on Lolipop. It is very customizable, I am using transparent clock/weather widget, calendar widget (Scrollable) and a number of app shortcuts. The only gotcha was I had to delete the Android guest account otherwise when I would unlock it would go to the Lolipop lock screen. You can setup up a lot of gesture actions, and click on the lock button turns the phone back off. Mine is probably gaudy and way too colorful for most but that's how I like it :D

So I busted one of the pins on my moto 360 the other day, I figured finding a replacement pin would be pretty easy, but I have been mistaken as I can't find them anywhere. I contacted moto support and asked about it and they said they don't replace that part but they will contact me within 4 hours with what they can do for me. Does anyone here have any ideas where to get a replacement for it?

Best lockscreen replacement? topic

Hey guys, I'm looking for a rather particular lockscreen that I just can't seem to find. I'm wondering if anyone on here could help me find a good one. Features I'm looking for:

-some form of security (PIN or pattern)

-SMS notifications at the LEAST (compatible with third party texting apps like Textra). I would prefer to have all notifications available on my lockscreen, but I can live with just SMS.

-Integrated music controls

-Custom screen timeout time

-Elegant looking

So far the closest I've found was ACDisplay, but there's a couple of things I don't like about it. Firstly, having to click a notification to view it defeats its purpose. I want to be able to glance at my phone to see who texted me without having to touch it. Also, every so often I'll get the "swipe down to exit full-screen mode notification." Snaplock came close, but the music integration is sub-par and there lacks custom screen timeout. Anyone have ideas?

Ghost touches after screen replacement, but only when the case is on,. topic

My case, since I got my screen replaced (Under warranty through Assurion) causes random touches. What I think is happening is that the new screen must have a slightly larger touchable surface.

It works perfectly outside the case, but I'm far too clumsy for that. I've already had my screen replaced twice after drops in the year that I have had it(and that was with a case on, I shudder to think how many more times I would have broken it without one).

Any suggestions on what to do?

My wife has the same device and she tried my case on hers with no problems, so it's definitely not simply the case being worn out.

I'm also hesitant to send it back to assurion with the complaint that they fixed it too well.

I did try an app called digitizer booster, which helps for a little while and then stops working. What I assume it is doing is ignoring the spots where the case is touching, and then at some point, when the case shifts or something, the ghost touches start up again.

I replaced my nexus 5 screen after cracking it with a new lcd, digitizer, and the frame from amazon. tested the screen before re assembling the whole unit and all looked great. after getting it all buttoned up i found that after the screen sleeps and comes back on the colors are very distorted. Rebooted the phone and the color is accurate again, but again after the screen sleeps and comes back on the colors are distorted. I then tore it back apart installed my old crack screen and all is fine again. I am looking to see if anyone has come across this. I am assuming it is a bad display, but would like to see if anyone has any other suggestion on a possible problem before i return the display.

[Q] Samsung Galaxt Tab 2 10.1 Screen Replacement Help topic

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 that I got from somebody to replace the cracked screen. This is not my first screen repair but it is my first time working with these Samsung tablets. I went out and bought a new screen for it which showed up in the mail damaged, so I contacted the seller and he sent a new one which was in good condition when it arrived. I went ahead and put it on the tablet with no problems. I turned the tablet on and it didn't work. I googled the problem and then I found out that there are different revisions of this screen. The screen that i had installed onto the tablet was a rev 0.2 and the one that arrived damaged was a rev 0.3. None of the screens work including the original but I think that is due to it being broken beyond use while I was removing it.

The original screen doesn't say what revision it is. The flex cable has MCF-101-0403-V3 ISU 1238 on the cable. Would this be a rev 0.0 cable? I am assuming that it is because there is no stated revision number on it.

The ad says that it is universal and that it will work for all versions. Is this even possible? I want to make sure that it will work because it is quite expensive.

I really need to get this tablet fixed because the owner has waited a long time and I'm still no closer to fixing it.

[Help!]D6633 Dual SIM MicroSD+USB Flap Replacement topic

Hi my sob story is my MicroSD+USB flap on my D6633 (Dual SIM Z3) already wore out, rather that glue holding the rubber gasket in place came loose and now dangles and makes the flap come loose very easily.
