[Q] Can't flash stock ROM - NAND Write failure topic

My dad has asked me to try and fix his Samsung Galaxy S2 (GT-i9100) which has somehow become soft bricked. On power-up it just sits on the logo screen and never moves from there. I am able to get into Download mode but not Recovery mode. I'm not sure which version of Android he had on it so I have downloaded Samsung stock ROMs but when trying to flash the ROM Odin always hangs for ages on the message "NAND Write Start" then eventually fails. Any ideas how I can fix this please?

I have installed the Samsung USB Drivers and tried doing this on multiple USB port on 2 different computers using versions 1.30,1.85,1.87,3.07 and 3.09 of Odin. I have tried the following ROMS:
