How to get rom off of phone? topic

I always like to have this nice and handy in case I mess something up and I normally use nandroid from twrp or cwm. For Samsung phones I like to grab the pit and md5 to use odin.

Sometimes I have a phone that does not have a custom recovery and bootloader locked. In this case what do I do? is adb backup good enough?
