A bit of help topic

Hi guys i'm new to the htc devices and i'm verry proud of my M7 and here is my question, i bought a htc m7 from a guy and is rooted and have a custom recovery,when the ota to lollipop will be avaible can i flash it with the custom recovery? i'm kinda noob at htc and as far as i read on this forum u need to have a stock recovery to install the ota from the phone,i want to install the zip from the custom recovery it's possible? i had samsung for the last 3 years so be patient with me
