Python for Android / sl4a topic

I'm trying to delve into Python and either am doing something wrong or something isn't working.
I've installed p4a and sl4.
I see the scripts but when I run them nothing....
And I can't find a good, easy beginners guide. When I run the basic hello world script I see the attxhed...
