[Q] I'm lost! the xt 1058 and bootloader topic

I was just about to buy a xt 1058 used and unlocked, just now i find out people are saying that with the 1058 you cant unlock the bootloader, for the at&t variant?... but the phone is unlocked free for any company, so the bootloder cant be unlocked in this phone? please help i need to know this
