Any alternative to Element cases? topic

I recently purchased an Element Eclipse phone case and am having problems with it. The TPU Power + Volume buttons are integrated so they do not stick out for easier pressing. Which is a problem because everytime I press either buttons, they don't activate unless it's with more than enough pressure. The main reason I bought the case was for the "SBS" (sound boost system) and am looking for any other possible case that features something similar to it. SBS is Element's way of bringing the sound from the rear speaker, to the front towards you so you can hear it better and have an overall better sound experience. I have yet to come across another case like that and was hoping somebody here knew of one. Thanks. :)

leather cases...? topic

I now have (and love) my G2.
However, my previous iPhone 6 had a PERFECT leather case.
I am looking for something similar:
1. snug fit and thin
2. not a folio/flip case.
3. Not silicon/TPU/etc. Needs to be leather like the Apple brand iPhone cases.

Anyone have ideas? I have looked and come up with nothing.
Thanks!

Do you use cases for your n5? topic

I own white Nexus 5 and would like to know if you use cases for N5.
I got my white N5 a week ago and am afraid that it will scratch easily. I would like to find out how your N5 is doing after using it for, let's say, at least half a year.
Does it wear off easily? Is camera durable and doesn't scratch easily?

Tetded case's smart cover feature does not work with Z3TC topic

So.. I got my new case from Tetded.

Upon my first try, I noticed that the screen didn't turn off when the flap is close.

Instead, the screen was closed when I open the flap all the way back.

and open again when I removed the flap from the back.

Also, you seems to be able to pry the leather open at the edge.

I believe this is due to the magnet position in the case. Not sure if it's because it was incorrectly positioned or they weren't designed for the smart cover function at all.

Anyway, I contact them and they issued me a refund via Paypal and another apologize email. They didn't explain anything though so I'm not sure if this happen on all units.

rooCase and GearIT cases for Tab S 8.4 topic

Hi all,

This is my first post here, following my upgrade from a venerable Nexus 7 (2012) to a Tab S 8.4 in November. I'm grateful for the numerous posts in the XDA community that instructed me on things such as disabling the capacitive buttons, so I thought I'd share some feedback on a couple of cases for which I don't see much discussion.

I started out with a rooCase Origami that I purchased from Amazon, because I wanted the ability to stand the tablet in portrait mode while keeping a reasonably slim profile. I really liked that the case added minimal bulk to the tablet, but the floppy, multi-fold cover was annoying, mostly because the magnets couldn't hold it closed. Also, the tablet didn't stand too well in portrait mode (tap a little too hard on the screen and the kickstand would give away). So, I returned the Origami in favour of a GearIT 360 spinner (also via Amazon).

The GearIT case has proven to be perfect for my needs. The tablet is very secure in the cradle, but pops out easily when you need it (which is necessary to access the card slots). The speakers, camera, ports, and IR blaster are fully exposed, and the camera is deeply recessed so it'll be hard to scratch the lens. The exterior is a twill fabric that's really nice to grip, and the magnets are reliable for waking the tablet and keeping the cover closed. As well, the cover folds in such a way that the soft inside rarely touches other surfaces (unless you fold it back like a magazine), so it won't leave dirt and debris on your screen. I've also been pleasantly surprised that the case hasn't attracted much cat hair (which is easy to clean off with a sticky roller or tape).

The 360-degree rotation enables you to stand the case in a variety of ways while maintaining a surprisingly slim profile for the tablet, and the best part is that you can properly use all of the angles available to you. With non-rotating cases (such as the Origami and Samsung Book Cover), you sometimes find that the screen will be upside down in landscape mode (when apps only rotate in one direction). You can solve this with an app to force screen rotation, but with the GearIT you just turn the tablet around 180 degrees. This also means that the power/volume keys are always on the top when in landscape mode. One of my favorite ways to use the case is to fold it into landscape typing mode (lowest angle), then rotate the tablet into portrait mode. It's the same effect as propping up one end of the tablet on a book.

After about five weeks of daily use, the case still feels solid. The folds are definitely looser than when I first got it, but that's to be expected given how often they're flexed. The rotating hinge ratchets so that your tablet doesn't swing around at will, and it's still nice and tight.

Perhaps the only thing I don't like is that the chrome trim doesn't match the bronze trim on the tablet. Although if I had a choice, I would have taken chrome over bronze...

Cheers!

[Q] Any experience with bluetooth keyboard cases? topic

Anyone have experience with Bluetooth keyboard cases, the kind that basically turn your phone into a slider? I am seeing very little in the way of options, and the reviews for those few options are not so good. Any info is appreciated!

Updated Note 4 Verus Cases! (PICS!) topic

Hello everyone. So today I received my case review samples from my contact over at Verus, which are the new updated models to accommodate the Verizon models and I have to say, I am extremely pleased. I'll be doing a review of all the cases that were sent soon but here are some initial things I noticed.

Possibly new packaging?
The label on my previous Verus case didn't have the "[NEW]" tag on the back so this might be one way to indicate the new updated models.

New buttons?

In my review of the Verus Iron Shield, I noted that the buttons were incredibly stiff and difficult to press. Well not anymore. The updated Iron Shield's buttons are so easy to press and I no longer have any issues using this case.

I looked into the new Iron Shield further and here are some pictures to show the revisions. I couldn't find any difference in the aluminum frame but I did find some things on the inner TPU membrane. There's these new slots for the power and volume buttons. Not sure how these would affect button feel but yea... Also, there's a bigger cutout for the left side mic cutout.

Here are the pics:

I have two cases to give away (You pay shipping) topic

I ended up not liking my Nexus 6, unfortunately I had already ordered two cases. I live in the western states and whoever wants to pay shipping can have the cases for free (Or at least nearly free, I just don't want to lose anymore money on them so you pay shipping and they are yours.) Shoot me a PM and just send shipping over PP and they are yours, I ended up getting a completely different phone so I have no use for them.

[Q]Are there any cases that protect the screen when you put the phone face down? topic

I'm looking for a case like diztronic ultra case that's also not bulky like an otter box?

I've only owned an otter box and a wallet case for my note and both were bulky.

I'd get the diztronic ultra from amazon, but it's only available in the US, and I reside in canada :(

Cases for the Bamboo OPO topic

I own a OnePlus One with the Bamboo back and as most people already know, it's actually quite thicker than the normal sandstone black and silk white backs and also a bit heavier. Because of this, most cases won't fit. I already tried putting on a naked clear case but my phone was too thick. Hopefully others with the Bamboo back could post here what cases would fit so we can put together a sort of list of confirmed cases that fit the Bamboo OPO.
