[Q] What just happened? And what did I do? topic

I have a motorola photon q that is rooted, and is running CM 10.1. Everything was working fine last night, but when I woke up my phone would not turn on, I thought maybe my charger messed up, but using different chargers did not work, no led, no screen response, anything. I tried recovery mode and fastboot, and couldn't get either to work. When I hooked it into my PC there was no response on either end. I thought about calling sprint, and while dealing with their automated system, I managed to get it to boot into recovery (TWRP 2.4) where I cleared my cache and Dalvik, and now it seems to be working fine.
All I want to know is what happened? Was it just luck I managed to get it into recovery? What do I do if it continues happening?

It's also worth noting that in TWRP it said my battery was at %33 but my phone is telling me I'm fully charged.

Where and what happened to "Permission Manager" in B708 EMIU.3 ? topic

Hello friends.
Permission Manager was the most important app for me.
I Was with B508sp2 EMIU 2.3 and installed the latest B708 with EMIU.3 .After the installation i have noticed that Permission Manager in missing totally in B708.
My question is.
Is there any way to enable it or install it again, without PM the EMiU 3 for me is not that attractive.:(

I want my Permission Manager ! :D

what happened to all the noob stuff? topic

Ok, I've been around for a while lurking and submitting some stuff under a different pen name, but anyway.
all the material for beginners has been buried, or not explained in recent posts for installations.
buried material of importance would be like installing supersu or modems. sure individual roms are great but without the basics its not very useful to new users.

can we please add this material?

like;
modem/firmware/baseband
vs
rom
vs
bootloader

I keep seeing this posted all over the place and i feel it is confusing many new users.
Even I am getting confused as we are not sticking to any one terminology or expanding to cover the many different terms in recent posts. for example in one post i will see "modem" referencing firmware or "modem" referencing "baseband" very confusing when jumping around lately.
Thank you for you time.
