Just wanted to see if anyone else was having a similar issue, and if so if anyone has any thoughts.
I haven't quite pinned down the cause yet, but I've noticed that when I try to share my phone screen with the Nexus Player (using the Chromecast app on my phone), it doesn't seem to work. It will initiate the screen sharing and show a picture that mirrors my phone, but then it's frozen. When I move to a different app or to my homescreen, the picture on the Nexus Player is stuck on the chromecast app.
I did a factory reset, and immediately tried the screen sharing at that point. It did work. I've done that twice now and it seems to be fine just after the reset. I'm not sure what the cause is but I'm trying to narrow it down to some kind of app I'm installing. Possibly Kodi or the Sideload Launcher? ES File Explorer? In any event, it's a pain to isolate since I have to completely wipe the Nexus Player when I encounter the issue.
I have tried a few things to restore screen sharing such as force quitting the casting program on the Nexus Player, along with erasing the cache and data. Doesn't seem to help.
