Hello XDA forum :)
I have been trying to make CSIPSimple work on my XT1045 with Carbon Rom lately, but not yet succeeded. When I first tried, the call connected and proceeded as normal, but I did not have audio on either end. When I made a call between two other devices (a Mediatek phone and a Samsung GS3 mini which also is running Carbon) using the same accounts, connection, and software, the audio succeeded on both ends. Oh, and just for fun I tried cycling through the codecs on CSIPSimple, with no luck. Attempting a voice call with Naver LINE went the same, guessing it's probably related, although more difficult for me to troubleshoot...
So, I went into /system/build.prop and fiddled with the settings there. Changing "use.voice.path.for.pcm.voip" from true to false resulted in sound being played on the Motorola's speaker, but still no sound on the other end. I don't understand why it did, but it did. I haven't been able to find a comprehensive list of the build.prop options, or at least the ones related to VOIP, but given this half success, it seems the problem may lie here.
Anyone have any ideas how to troubleshoot this? When I checked the build.prop on my Samsung, I noticed that the options pertaining to VOIP were omitted, guessing this is a device specific thing? And why was it that adding "use.path.for.pcm.voip=false" fixed the incoming audio?
...I'll post call information and /system/build.prop in another post, when I figure out the formatting (forum noob).
