I am looking at buying a 7" pure android 4.4.2 stereo navigation unit for my car. The only real drawback I can tell is that the unit will completely shut down when I turn the key off. It does have an unswitched power wire and a switched power wire. My initial assumption was that the unit would not shut down when the key is turned off, but go into standby like my phone died when i press power button. But the vendor says it will shut down and take over a minute to boot up when I start the car.
I just found an app called Autosleeper Auto Power On-Off. It will bring the phone out of standby when I connect power to it and put it into standby when I disconnect power. Will something like that work on the android stereos?
Does anyone have any experience with the units with the two power wires and can give me some insight?
Thanks
