Galaxy hardware topic

I have an s5. Had all the s series, and note, up to 3. They all have little tiny coaxial (I assume) type cable. Water damaged my s5, perfect data connection but won't call/recieve. Hangs on dialing... ruled out all software possibilities, get amazing data still... Similar problem with an s4, repaired coax cables/connectors and solved the problem. Is it likely a similar issue??
