Compass consistently off topic

I've got a stock, rooted D801 running 4.4.2 and I've been having problems with my phone's compass. The problem is that even after calibrating, the compass is always off by about 15°. This is the second G2 I've had with the problem, and with the first phone, I fixed it by deleting the akmd_set.txt file in /data/misc. However with this phone, I can't find the file anywhere. Does anyone know the name and location of the compass calibration files?
